Post by: noevra on March 29, 2007, 11:20:44 AM
im building a website. and want to start my own compeny somewhere soon. main goal is to sell stuf on the internet. Therefore the website has to be 100% good and working.

I now started the fist step of the progress and made the layout of the home page. Now before i work on the sub pages i want to see if it works correcly to all of you. The posion of tekst and that kind of stuf. So i dont have to work out errors in the disigne later on.

So i ask your help and just klick the link and check if you see anny strange thinks. like images that are offerlapping oneother. and that sort of stuf.

You would help me greatly if you do this:

Looks fine here with me Noev, I'm using Firefox 2.0, and have a 24" with 1920x1200 res.
Nice design also, if I might add :thumbsup2:

But if I were you, I would try to make it pass the HTML Validator (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww12.brinkster.com%2Fnoevra%2For-open%2520you%2520eyes%2Ftpl_default%2Ftpl_home.htm) provided by W3C (http://www.w3.org/). Also the CSS Validator (http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww12.brinkster.com%2Fnoevra%2For-open%2520you%2520eyes%2Ftpl_default%2Ftpl_home.htm&warning=1&profile=css21&usermedium=all) is a nice tool to check your page with. As you can see, the CSS had only one minor error, but there were quite some with the HTML markup, so I'd work a bit on that :)

I've had a brief look.

1. It comes up in the address / site name bar as  {seo_title} which looks odd
2. The title should read open your eyes not you.

Apart from that none of the links work which is I guess you know. The flash image works well and overall it looks nice !

I'm using Fire Fox at 1920 x 1200

Ps. this is in the wrong forum - you'll probably have more look if some kind soul moves it for you!

Works well, I like the design, wish I had more of an eye for graphics.

Bit iffy in Firefox when resizing the font, but IE7 works better (as it magnifies everything ).

Are you writing your own e-commerce software or using an off the shelf package?

edit: looked at the source :) nice work. But like Bob said, get it validating.

It all looks good to me, it's looking pretty nice. :D. I have firefox plugins which evaluates whether the HTML, CSS, Javascript etc are valid, and it's come up with some errors for your site, however it all seems to be working fine, so maybe you don't want to bother? I usually tend to try to get no errors in pages. I tried Firefox at 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600, and Internet Explorer 6. I'll try it with IE 7 later, but it all seems good.

EDIT: I see i mentioned the errors, like Bob. I didn't even notice the responses before i posted. ;)
