Title: Anyone got a shoehorn?
Post by: BigFatCat on April 03, 2007, 12:39:53 PM
After Capt. Blind in his Merc decides to ram me at a roundabout, my car is now being taken into storage for the best part of a month as impacted door leaks when it rains.
His insurance company have kindly arranged a hire car in the interim. The pressing question is could they have found anything smaller than the Corsa they're providing?

If I bring my PC, I'll have enough cargo space for a sock and maybe some very skimpy pants.

Maybe you could wear 3 sets of cloths while driving? So you can use the cargo space for Redbull :P

Some funny sod at the Vauxhall plant only fitted half the engine, a whole litre with 3 cylinders. Sounds and feels like driving a lawnmower.

Ooh, I can sympathise.  I drove one just like that when mine was in being repaired.  Completely gutless, hateful, little motor.  0-60 in infinity IIRC, and totally dangerous as you had to plan all overtaking manoeuvres two days in advance.  The only fun I ever managed to have in it was when I decided to bounce it off the rev limiter all the way back to the garage.

In law you would reasonably be entitled to a replacement car that would allow you to carry out yoru daily business and was of similar size to your own, so it might be worth having a word with his insurer.  If the accident was his fault then he is liable for such reasonable costs.

It's physically the same size, but I don't see my claims for something with a higher power output and sharper handling holding up much:)
