Title: Fed up babysitting "admins"
Post by: Dr Sadako on May 10, 2007, 09:54:47 PM
Is it ok if I start handing out 30 minute bans to admins that doesn't balance the teams? We had a horrible example on port this evening with two admins on the team with +1 player on their team and leading 9-1.

Admins that comment "0_o at teams" being on the team with more players and NOT balancing will recieve a permanent ban. You guys may feel free to lift it but I will not. :ranting2:

After fair warning, wouldn't it be better to just remove mani_admin powers rather than banning?

a 30 min ban is no biggie really - but people love their admin powers .....

This is a LOT worse .... sheesh I can't believe that people do it

Just a question shortly. I played the other day and people did swap when asked (as in the first that would get killled swap).
At that moment I was leading in score, do you think I should have swapped to make a point?
You know I don't care about the team I play in but when you're winning 4-0 allready or so...

I ALWAYS join either the losing team, or, if they are over weighted, the smaller team.

If I dip-out for a beer or fag, I always tell someone, and usually rejoin my team.

sometimes, as was the case tonight, loads of people join when I'm away and I don't notice, so when I rejoined we were overloaded.

I think if you start to ban admins it can go to hell & back real soon as it can get too personal real quick.  So I am for the Admins should not ban Admins rule.  Either someone is up to have admin powers or not.  It they're not then voice it here and police it here, removing the powers if necessary.  The other thing that you can do is just move people to balance the teams.

I hope your talking about the Mani Admins here?  If so I agree with Pen, name them and I'll remove their admin access.

I just wonder if they may be concerned that if they swap then they will be seen as team stacking (if the losing team had mainly dMw players). We've also made it pretty clear we don't want them acting as admins when we are on the server and the bind to "not change side unless asked to by an admin" could also contribute?

Comments please.

The intention of this post is of course to get the discussion going. Yes it is mani admins I am talking about. I know you guys do a very good job on balancing teams etc. However, I think it takes enough time away from my own game to educate new players TCS. If I also have to tell mani admins how to behave as admins then it is just too much. Then I just stop playing all together. It is not worth it.

If any of the senior admins are on is it too much to ask of an mani admin to keep track of team numbers and team score? It is not like they have their hands full with admin tasks when we are on.

I think we should make a post directed to the mani admins regarding this. I would really like to point out that I think it is much better if they even the teams than focus on swapping teams at map change.

Don't worry I will not ban anyone directly ... I will wait a round or two. ;)

I do this, but I expect that with 80% of the server being dMw and mani admins on the other team they should balance automatically. I expect that of dMw players without being admins tbh.

Maybe they're not too sure whether they should move as 1 of our admin messages states not to swap unless asked by an admin.
just a thought.

King and KKND were playing the other day when KKND was on the opposite team as my bro. My brother asked if he could do something like slaying AFK-bombers and such because KKND couldn't see what was up, maybe stuff like this would be under the criteria that MANI-admins are allowed to do a little bit but should ask the higher admin first?
