Title: Shooting bodies
Post by: Whitey on May 28, 2007, 08:45:39 AM
There are a number of people on our servers who take delight in emptying a clip into someone they've just killed.  Don't do it, it doesn't fit in with our policy of showing respect to fellow players.

Shoot them as much as you like when they're alive but once they are dead, let them rest in peace. :flirty:

Actually, to be fair, if it's Lee then it *does* harbour a certain appeal :norty:

Seriously though I agree - we don't 'tag' dead bodies and we shouldn't shoot 'em neither.

I admit I was one to sometimes "deface" some corpses, (which I wont do anymore), but heres a situation:

Snokio runs at me down a hallway and I plant one in his head (:narnar:), am I allowed to spray my tag on his corpse, or is this counted the same as shooting the corpse after?

Guilty:byebye:

but then it's a chalk outline, and meant to be humerous:)

as for emptying a clip into a dead body....

chance'd be a fine thing:sideways:  But I agree, it's not very dMw

Quite right.

If you're going to desecrate a cadaver properly, dear boy - one simple has to use a knife for the full aesthetic effect...

Seems I may be the minority here, doesn't bother me.
Suppose I'll have to stop peeing against the wall on Dust2 as well :(

I don't get offended by it personally, i know i've done it on the rare occasion, sometimes at the end of the round when i've won and i'm the last alive. I'll make sure not to do it from now on though. :flirty:

I wouldn't get offended if anybody shot my body, but if other people do, i'll stop it, I genraly don't do it to deface people, or to say that i'm better than them or anything silly like that, I do it to see if my bullets are on target. As my bullets get a funny bug sometimes and don't hit where I want them to. I'll keep in mind that people don't like to be shot at, but is it okay if I Shoot at something to see if my bullets are on, even if it's a plant pot or something?

Yes you can shoot the furniture to check your bullets are OK (I've never heard of a bullet bug before)

That's a good point ET, i sometimes shoot at a certain spot to try to improve my aiming if it's suddenly gone down the pan. I'd actually imagine we shouldn't do it, maybe best to leave the server and come back once we have practised? :eyebrow:

[Edit] Whitey i'd like to show you what i do later on in the server when i practise shooting so you can see whether it's acceptable.

I don't see it being a problem at the start of a round but it may cause issues into the round as your team mates might think you've got the enemy near you.

Good point, i'll consider that. I'll make sure if i need to do it then i'll do it at the start of a round. I'll try not to do it however. But as you know sometimes my aiming can be dire. :g:

Well, it is a nice idea. However, the bullet decals aren't always the same spot you as you hit i.e. bullet hits "one" pixel and bullet decal is at another pixel.

Aye, I usually do it at the end of a round, but mostly I simply empty my clip into the first thing I see, not a specific corpse. Heck, most of the times I end up shooting clouds off the sky. Also, if I was about to reload anyways and only have about 5 shots left in the clip I tend to empty it (into the floor mostly) so I don't end up with an odd number of shots left in my inventory.
But, since it obviously bothers some of you guys, I'll avoid doing it when possible (it's not something I do on purpose, rather a reflex these days).

I'm gonna encourage the emptying of weapons into corpses, in the hope that they will be reloading/empty when I bump into em:norty:

Gah, guilty here too, but to be honest I don't see it as any different from spraying your spray after a killing spree.

But meh, if you don't like it, I guess I won't do it.

I do it occasionally....mainly when they're in funny positions. It just seems right sometimes when someone is arched over in an akward way. I'll try not to do it now though.

its hard for people not to behave aggressively when playing a game like css:devil:
but i agree with you that, altough just a game, its a bit disrespectful when someone do this (espacially when you use the m249:D )
