still needs atleast 1-2 years to surpass ddr2 low latency performance ide say
Overclockers seem to have a few of these sticks on their site. I might just wait for ddr3 seeing as i am still on ddr400 :).
Tbh, performance is quiteimpressive considoring these are the first mobo's sticks we see hitting the streets, i give em 6-8 months and we will prolly see our great DDR2 sticks eat the dust rather hard :D
...and don't forget you'll need a nice new board for that nice new memory as it doesn't fit in DDR2 slots.
nothing like upgrading computers :P

Thanks good Blueball. Don't mind waiting :D.
You prolly could get em to fit with a saw and hammer.. tho they prolly wouldnt work :P
DDR2 prices seem to be scraping the bottom at the moment so possibly a good time to look for deals there. I'm thinking get a good mature stable setup with a 6600 or similar, pc6400 to allow some overclocking headroom, a decent enough motherboard ... should last another couple of years with an 8800 gts of some flavour :) ...of course if quad cores drop massively in price as promised a QX6600 might be the way to go! :D motherboard will keep that in mind I think, just in case 4 cores becomes useful enough!
As Gorion said I wouldn't worry too much just yet unless you're the sort that buys stuff on the cutting edge frequently :)

No not yet tho... but its VERY high on my list :D

Don't go for PC6400 memory go for PC8500 or 9200 (You can get 2Gb of OCZ Reaper PC 9200 for £152 at the mo: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Memory/DDR2/DDR2+1100+%28PC8800%29/+OCZ+DDR2+PC2-9200+ReaperHPC+%282+x+1GB%29?productId=26806)
Well, I've posted this so you guys know a bit about it also aswell.
I've got DDR2 in my Shuttle so I was interested in reading about DDR3 allready...
