Awful in a new super deluxe version of awful, that redefines the word awful... in fact it's an insult to awful to compare this film to it. I was personally offended that some movie suit could possibly think I would accept paying for this cynical attempt to steal money from me. After we walked out 3/4 of the way through my girlfriend managed to get our tickets refunded! It seems the cinema management didn't care for her explaining in great detail just how foul the film was in front of the queue for the next screening. I've not walked out of a film since Star Trek: The movie and I've never got a refund before ever. So Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End will at least be remembered for something.
And I'm a big Depp fan, so it pains me that he does this sort of stuff. Here's hoping he gets back to doing real acting soon.
Hmm, I disagree,(And yet, I also couldn't agree more.) yes, it isn't the best film ever made, and not even close, but I think it's worth watching, although there are some strange bits in it, and there's lack of enthusiasm put into the film, and that's because they F*** up the script, or I think they did, putting totaly rubbish with other rubbish, putting it all together, and hoping that it works, but it doesn't, the sroty line's a bit cruddy, and the acting that some of the more famous actors have had to do, degrades them, but appart from that great film, it's up to you if you wanna watch it, and tbh seeing 10 Jack sparrow's kinda scary,( yeah, yeah, yeah, I gave away the scrip, so what?) would like to watch it again to see how utter rubbish it is, i'd still advise watching it for yourself, because people WILL have diffrent opinions.
Fighting scenes are samey, plot's a bit odd, and seeing a deranged Jack Sporrow's honestly a bit scary, if not odd.
6/10, for lack of effort, and them not putting enough thought into the film, and to think I sat there for three hours and watched it.
Good and bad thigs about the film,
#1 The film sucked. But there were some good actors there
#2 The coke and Pop corn were nice
#3 The annoying women that were sat next to me talking
#4 There were a few fit girls there so I could gaze a them when the film was getting annoying
#5 The maddened jack Sparrow,( I guess this ones a bit of both, quite funny to see him going even mader than I thought possible though.) there that about covers it, you'll g=have to work out what's good, and what's bad though.
I liked it and those who are reading the above posts ignore them :) .
I did think Keira Knightley was dreadful and seemed very skinny (really gone off her) and Orlando Bloom dreadful. I really enjoy Johny Depp he masters every character he plays.
The Special effects were superb in my opinion and yes the script was quite poor overall its a watchable film. It does all the things a film should do plus many things a film shouldnt do.
My opinion worth £5 :norty:

Johny Depp played his charecter well, it's just that they gave him a bad(ish) charecter to play. Or the lines, I don't know, there was something there that didn't quite seem right.
But all in all, worth watching.

I watched it last weekend, and I loved it. Not as good as the first one, but a bit better than number two I think.
And Johnny Depp playing Jack Sparrow - he just rock :D I just dig that character!
Not sure what i thought of it. It was definitely worse than the first, maybe worse than 2nd too, unfortunately it was very cheesy and family-based but still entertaining i guess.
I loved it and so did the missis :)
Were both easily amused.....
"ive dropped my brain" lmao :lmfao:
I thought it was OK, the kids loved it!
I've just been & watched it with the gf, it's not as bad as most the reviews i'd read try to make it out, better than the 2nd, not as good as the 1st & yea a bit waffly at times in the middle.
Not every film you watch is gonna be an oscar winning masterpiece, its a few hours of entertainment, & thats about it.

Will be seeing it this Friday with the misses.
i loved the movie :D to bad about the body double in that leg scene. not to ruin it for anyone.. but there is a scene with a leg in it...:woot2: (comments on that scene can be sendt in PM's so we don't ruin the movie  )
and for ppl that are going to see it, there is a scene after the credits too  to bad the credits take some time.. but ..
ORLY? I didn't see the scene after the credits >_<.
And Et said he enjoyed it after we watched it (Him, 1 other and myself).
Personally I loved it, and Johnny Depp was brilliant. And it isn't that hard to figure out the plot >_<. First 2 posts where a bit harsh, tbh.

I agree entirely. You can never go wrong with a comedy monkey...

I wouldn't ever bother to listen to a critics reviews where it concerns a movie like this, or Spiderman 3, or Transformers - where it concerns large sequels or blatant hollywood blockbusters your best bet is to listen to your mates or watch it yourself. The amount of times I've read a review of POTC3 and the reviewer has said "it's confusing" just makes me weep - what on earth is there to get confused about with this? It's not exactly Memento is it :g:

That is what the industry says as well...

You twit :P(Even though it may have seemed that way) I didn't say I didn't enjoy it, just that it could have been a lot better, lots of films are like this.. But oh well.. ( is it okay if I refer to u as twit from now on? :S, I would very much enjoy it, hehehe. And only I (Me <<< can call him that? Please? yay....! I've gotta stop talking to myself...)
No, I didn't stay for the credits, and no-one else did either, although, listening to a film critic for half an hour an not getting deteard, I must get points for that! (Sounds a bit like deturded - has the same meaning as depoo. 0_o)

Amen, films don't have to be cerebral masterpieces. None of the Pirates films were thinky films. However the film makers seem to have worked along the lines of....
"We cannot loose with this. We're going to make a bajillion pounds no matter what we produce. So what's our incentive for writing a sharp clever script, adding some new interesting plot twists and a smattering of well conceived original characters?"
"Err no idea but it sounds like hard work."
"You're right. Cinema audiences are basically mindless sheep who will chow down on any banal crap we feed them, so lets just do the shite version and take the rest of the week off?"
"Genius!"
Couldn't have put it better myself smilodon :P
Well i finaly managed to watch it (after marduk having bought the dvd ages ago), and it wasnt too bad, allthough i would have expected another ending. Entertaining, but nowhere near as good as the first one. I think they shoulda just made the first movie. :sideways:
But think of the profit they would have flushed away if they had not made film 2 and 3. The last film wasn't as bad as some people/critics said it was. It did suffer from the 'too many bad guys' problem that sank Spiderman 3 and messed up the Batman franchise completely. And Ikea Knightley's role was so obviously bigged up by her agent it was painful. The whole Pirate King screamed last minute re-write. And Keith Richards should not have been let anywhere near the set. That was complete self indulgence by the film makers. However the film was still a laugh and I enjoyed it's silliness, plus Depp had some killer lines.
QuoteLord Cutler Beckett: You're mad.
Jack Sparrow: Thank goodness for that, 'cause if I wasn't this would probably never work.
After watching film II I will go nowhere near III. God that was awful pos.
