Never like the cartoon or the toys. Crap premise, but hey, I'll share

Could be worth watching in one of those - I'm bored moments :)
I liked the cartoonseries, not sure if a movie would be cool though.
Loved it as a kid. Can't wait :woot2:
Really want to see that movie :dribble:
Cartoons sucked.
However, the special effects look good so maybe worth a peek.
This movie is great....seen it enjoyed it every min:D
But Jazz is a Porsche, not some chevrolet lump!

Haven't they changed Bumblebee as well so he's no longer a VW-Bug? And does the movie feature RC, the only 'female' transformer, with the best name ever! (Say it out loud, g'wan ;) )
Are Slag and Sludge in it?
Loved the first series so i want to see the movie.:D
Its a movie from steven spielberg so mostly those are good.
Seen it yesterday night and it was marvelous.
Autobots:
Optimus Prime
Bumblebee
Ratchet
Jazz
Ironhide
Decepticons:
Megatron
Starscream
Barricade
Frenzy
Scorponok
Brawl (called devastator in the movie for some reason)
Blackout
Bonecrusher
Think thats all the transformers in the movie, but i might have missed 1
Watched this a while ago and I LOVED IT :D
Damn awsome film really want to see it again now :woot2::woot2::woot2:
I thought the movie was very good. I didn't watch the series all that much as a kid so I can say it stuck to it or was miles away, but as a separate film it worked well. The graphics which let so many films down these days was incredibly well done. There were maybe 6 scenes in the whole film I thought could be improved (remember this is a film where the stars are giant fighting robots...so theres a decent amount of graphics used).
(and incase you were wondering a couple of those scenes were (without giving away the plot: The breaking ice on megatron, and flying through a building))
Great film. Not worth getting this one as a screener as you'll want to see the graphics in all it glory, a job for HD or Blu-Ray when it hits shops.
It was decent, and I enjoyed most of it.. although I agree with this one (http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=241)..
Okey I'm maybe going to get a verbal kicking for this but.....
I passionately believe in the concept of a film only being as good or as bad as the individual finds it. Art is subjective. Because I love a certain film doesn't make it universally good. Your opinion of the film is no less valid than mine. Conversely if I think a film is bad and you think it is great then both our opinions are just as relevant.
However with Transformers I can feel my resolve weakening. I almost believe that a film can be universally bad and if anyone disagrees with me they are just wrong. Transformers is ghastly, horrid, and more than anything a real insult to my intelligence. In the UK it has a 12 certificate, so clearly it is not for little children. But does Bay think I'm so dim as to accept his shocking editing, ridiculous and almost inaudible dialogue and totally pointless film. Bay is a nasty, grubby film maker, I resent every single penny he has made form the film industry and while I wish him no personal harm, if he could suddenly convert to some dark mystic religion and spend the rest of his life wandering alone in the mountains searching for inner enlightenment, well the film industry would be all the better for it.
OK, OK, if you liked Transformers then I respect your opinion and am glad you had a good time at the cinema, but this is as close as I have come to genuinely believing that if you liked this mess then you must be a complete idiot

ROFL... Smilo i love your reviews i want to see it now just for that reason :roflmao:
No Mick... just ignore smilos comments ... for some reason he is perceived as some film critique of substance... this film was cert'd 12A ...because its for kids...and my 13 year old loved it .... as did I ... so are we both idiots as well because we disagree with smilo ... I THINK NOT !!!!
If this offends then so did smilo's comments ..

Then you missed my point entirely. Lots of people quite liked this movie and lots of people really hated it with a passion. It sort of polarized opinion. My hating it is fine, so is the fact you liked it. My comments about it being bad regardless of what you think were meant for humorous effect and I thought I made that pretty clear. I hoped my first comment illustrated that no film is de-facto good or bad and no one is an idiot for liking or disliking it. Seems I was wrong?
Can i just say Michael Bay made the film The Rock which is in my top 10 favourite movies. I just want to see this movie as it is his latest film. Personally i never got into transformers and i think that in all honesty i want to see it just because of the director.
There were times when people went to a cinema just to have fun and really not read too much into films. Transformers deilivers it has a lot of non-stop action a hot chick and mind blowing CGI, yes the plot and script is pretty weak but who cares?
Enjoy the film for what it is not what it is not. Really hate people who drag people and films down just because they dont enjoy it. Films are ment to be successful and this one will be!

Smilo. I hate to say m8. but your wrong on two points. I did a double header at the cinema on Saturday, Simpson's first followed by Transformers.
The Simons movie made transformers look like citizen kane. Transformer zipped along, It made me laugh and generally full of eye candy. (4 star film.)
But the Simpson's, Boy O Boy, This was BAD. It was a standard Simpson's plot (20 minutes) Dragged kicking and screaming over 80 minutes, The normal snappy dialogue was laboured and just not funny.
So there is such a thing as a universal BAD film. Here they are!
The avengers (it's a film with a bloke in a giant teddy bear suit)
Cat Women (not even sexy Halle could get me to the end)
Hudson Hawk (bad, bad, bad)
and now The Simpson's Movie (sad but true)
Hmmm you almost have me beat there. The Avengers had a few brief moments in it that were OK. But they were confined to Uma Thurman in a cat suit with the volume turned down to zero :norty:
I like Hudson Hawk, it was enjoyable toss, but admittedly toss.
I really enjoyed transformers, and I always disagree with Smilo :)
He tends to give me a verbal lambasting whenever we disagree, so you're not alone there, although it's been a while. It always seem to be when I proclaim the utter genius of Bill Paxton, or the awesomeness of Kurtwood Smith in Robocop. Don't worry though, he's one of these gentle giants who normally has tongue firmly in cheek.
That said, Transformers was ace and he's clearly wrong :D All it missed was Orson Welles as a giant planet-eating robot.
Oh, and Michael Bay also directed Bad Boys, which goes to show he can make a strong film from time.
I like Bill Paxton, but unlike you I don't want to have his babies, so my judgement of him is not clouded by maternal instinct.
And here's the point, if there were no Transformers before the film came out it would be different. If there was no toy, no comic book and no cartoon series then maybe it would be OK that Michael Bay made a style over substance, lightweight bit of popcorn munching fun. But the Transformers already existed. All the story and all the robots were already there. What this film adaptation needed was something extra. I assumed I was off to see a film about giant robots fighting each other. And that's exactly what I got, and absolutely nothing more. No surprises, no twists, nothing clever. Just robots fighting. A better director (Tim Burton, James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott etc) would have come up with something imaginative. We would have got something we weren't expecting. Imagination, creativity, suprise, something...anything. But Michael Bay can't do that. All he can do is big explosions and then um.. more explosions.
When Tim Burton gave us Batman we got darkness and we got Jack Nicholson tearing up the screen. We thought we were getting a bright shiny Christopher Reeves/Superman type film but we actually got a slightly unhinged Michael Keaton/gothic horror.
Transformers gave us nothing but an excuse for a cgi-fest. Like Troy before it, Transformers took great source material and squandered it. I can forgive the makers of Troy for bottling out and not giving us Homers Iliad, it's a tough story to tell. But I'm more or less certain the makers of Transformers didn't even begin to try to do anything with their film. It was an excercise in making a movie that makes money by being big and loud and fun. It could have been great like Spiderman, Aliens, Pirates of the Caribbean or Shrek but it wasn't..it was just dumb and therefore a classic missed opportunity. Shame on you Hollywood
nice movie, me likes :)
I've watched the movie last night, although they didn't "transform" the original cartoon TV-series in to a movie (with names and such), I still liked it alot.
The next one looks awesome:

It has megan fox:yahoo::P:norty:
It's directed by Michael Bay and will therefore be shite.

The first one was directed by him and was pretty good.
Anyway I'll probably end up watching this but I don't have high expectations.
Im really looking forward to the sequel, first one was a awsome action flick and well made. Also considering Megan Fox is in it is alone enough for me to go watch it.

Is anyone else starring at simply the bike?
Unlike Bladerunner, which is brilliant regardless of what anyone else things, I'll accept Transformers is a matter of opinion. Michale Bay did direct The Island which was decent enough.
I still maintain that Transformers was a complete missed opportunity though. With source material like that he should have made something comparable to Jurassic Park or Peter Jacksons King Kong.
