I'm not sure if anyone within -=[dMw]=- allready started CSS + Vista. Maybe dropping Lionheart a PM might help out? (I know he was using Vista allready a year ago)

I use vista and CSS, I used to have the exact same problem you describe on my old xp machine and i never figured out what caused it. The best remedy is to not alt tab :p

I've never quite understood the reason for alt+tabbing when there's a perfectly good Windows key that does the same job nes pa? Just off to put my money where my mouth is. brb

I'm back. Yep, Windows key works nice and cleanly. That'll be 10/- please

From what ive found out its a issue with the vista memory management system, when you tap out, and tap back in, vista does give back CSS the correct priority on the ram, so CSS dont the same amount of ram..

Tho im not to sure about it, as from what i read of your post the fps is stuck at 30fps, not going higher, so which to me, seems more like a graphics driver/gfx api bug.. ill look a bit further..

The Windows key brings up the start menu - alt+tab gives you a list over currently running programs to easily switch through 'em. If returning to desktop is what you're after, than they provide pretty much the same functionality, but other than that I'd have to argue a bit with you :learn:

Thanks for the replies. Forgot about the windows key  i never use it! My frame frame does actually go to about 60 if you look at the sky so it probably is that memory issue.

It might be a driver problem...I had the same issue with an old version of my gfx driver, but after updating recently alt-tab and windows key don't affect fps at all after maximising.:yahoo:
