I bought one of these (http://www.amazon.co.uk/greymobiles-USB-Mouse-Mat-Port/dp/B000LQ6GLA/ref=pd_bbs_12/026-8177931-1159640?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1181859342&sr=8-12), but I only paid £1.99 +£6.98 p+p

I got a razer copperhead and they go together really well.

It's the best mouse/mat combo I've ever had.

and it glows blue to match my glowing blue rig:yahoo:

Let's be honest, you didn;t actually need a mouse mat, did you!  You only bought it because it glowed blue! :narnar:

Piccies please - cos last time I saw your rig it was mighty blue-glowy :D

Razer like Blunt, combined with fUnc Industries mat. What a crap combo. Not recommended.

Mousemats are for wimps! I put my mouse on a sheet of sandpaper and just push really hard - works for me as long as you turn up the sensitivity a bit :)

ive got a func 1030, its really nice with an mx500, a laser mouse wont track on it unfortunately

also have a razer control mat, but the icemat just pwns it hard,

the only "defect" of an icemat is the "dampened" surface that forms from the heat that comes out of my palms

I'm still using a mousemat that I got over 10 years ago when I was working in Glasgow.

It was one laying around at work which was from a training course that someone had been on "Platinum Training" has an '01908' number on it so its from Milton Keynes and after a turn in the washing machine it comes out like brand new.

Solid rubber base + cloth weave top (no fraying)

See there is something good that comes out of Milton Keynes.

(Probably made in China)

Pah! i hope you are using coarse sandpaper BB! Personally i think the only important factors for a mouse mat are that it needs to be smooth and big enough for your hand movement, obviously it should be comfy, but i find most are anyway. I just use a free one my Dad got from hospital with USB ports in it. :narnar:

My fave mouse mat is an upturned dining table place mat.
Its a cork surface which has a great grip for the mouse and is absorbant for any sweat.
Plus when it gets old you swap it for another one on the dining table without the Mrs knowing. :norty:

Well , you see thats the thing, the under side of a place mat don't get dirty on my table. Until I use it as a mouse mat.

I use a bright green ice mat in combination with a razer diamondback which i got from our sponsor when i still played 1.6 and it took a while to get used to it. Especially during winter because the glass can become very cold but it is a great mat which just doesn't wear down and is very smooth an big. I love it :dribble:

I've never really gotten the whole concept of mouse mats. My combo is mouse+desk and it works fine for me.

I've always just use desk and mouse. I had an on wireless logitech thing that worked great (part of a keyboard bundle) and now I'm on a logitech MX1000 Laser mouse. I looked around and realised if the only thing that annoyed me about my old one was the batteries going flat.
Never had much problems with surfaces - if they are then bit of tape and A4 paper. Then loads of area to write down useful info and doodle. Bet you all wish you had a "2D note organiser" now.

P.S: If you see one online it'll just be me flogging a4 sheets of paper and small amounts of tape to people for outrageous prices.

Edit: If you use a mouse mat to help your wrists I just use a powerball " //www.powerballs.com " and despite climbing, playing ball guitar and gaming lots, I've never had any problems with my wrists or hands. (Buy on their website and you can return it after any length of time even if you drop it, with firebox etc, you can't.)

Mouse mats to advise...? Not really got any, the one that i'm using right now just says powis youth forum, WOW, that's the first time i've actually read it... heh.. well, i've got a mouse about as long as my longest finger (I've got very small fingers... I've grown so much, but my hands have stayed the same size(Ish)) I'll say 3 inches to avoide comfusion, and 1.5-2 inches wide, now, that is a very small mouse... But really, I don't think that what sort of mouse mat matters, as long as it grips well, but not too well of course, it's all about prefrances... I guess

I had a rummage at work today to replace the one discarded after the last LAN, so I've now got myself a Leitch branded one we supply with video editing systems. Measures 28x12" so I can turn my resolution down, maybe just a little.
