Title: dMw File Store
Post by: Stryker on May 26, 2003, 09:33:20 AM
I've set up an FTP on blackadder as follows:

username: leech
password: tat789

Please be sensible and help keep this titdy else if stuff is just dumped there it could get very messy and you'd never find that map you wanted to download.

There is one and only rule which I'll type in caps so you read it

THIS IS FOR DMW ONLY. NO PASSING THE ACCOUNT CREDENTIALS TO OTHER PEEPS OUTSIDE OF DMW, NOT EVEN YOUR BESTEST BEST MATE COS REST ASSURED HE HAS A BEST MATE TOO AND HIM AND HIM AND HIM.

OK, listen up peeps.

This 'leech' post will be removed very shortly, so if you do not have the details written down then tough as you will no longer be able to get hold of them.

As you know, dMw and Crosswired do not support any hacked software so we will be setting up an official dMw FTP account (details to be posted soon).

We will no longer publish the details of the current 'leech', however, current dMw members may find that Stryker forgets to disable the account and therefore it may remain active.

The official dMw ftp details will be posted shortly, so make any notes you need to make now.

it is imperative that we refer to FTP as the official dMw download area.  Leech will *cough* not exist to anyone joining after the new post goes up.

You must not reveal passwords or account details to anyone.........or we'll have your nuts roasted.

Understood?

TL.

Is it possible to link to a file in the leech via http?  e.g i have some webspace which i can upload to via ftp, but obviously it's publicly viewable which i dont want.  So it there any way i can link to a folder on the leech via a webpage without posting the full ftp address?

I don't think we would want any web page linking to anything in our current leech area, it should remain private.  If you want to put a link in the leech area to link to a download from your own website though....... ;)

That was meant to be a joke - hence the ;) at the end.  You're not going to have a link in the leech area to JB's website.

Anyway, let's end the posting about options stuff because this is non-negotiable.  The change is happening soon.  A post will go up to announce the 100% official and legit FTP account shortly.

What you peeps do privately with an old forgotten about leech account is nobody else's business.

So lets get this straight...I put all my nicked stuff on the new leech but I don't link to it from the old leech. But I can't give the password out from the old leech unless it's to JB or his web site as long as the links are from the new leech via the old leech and referenced on JB's web page. And we don't tell Doorman a thing about any of it ?

Got It  :)

Then I will make a final announcement. I am currently uploading Deus Ex - Invisible War to the leech. The game will be released in March 2004. :)

Well, the game will not be up until maybe tomorrow so don't go there just yet.

Nope. The distro of Linux whatis the heart of Blackadder is incapable of supporting it. <_<

I have made a major cleanout on the leech of stuff that was more than 2 months old. I have kept some files that are good for all of us if we are leeching or gaming (burning progs, sfv, miRC, etc etc). The reason for this cleanup is that when the leech started up we should  keep it tidy as we only have 30 GB to play with and also because I filled the leech to the max. :D

Two ideas:

1. Stryker/DogMeat/anyone is it possible to create a folder with a name like this 'Current space left is 5.23 GB' that automatically updates itself? I think I have seen it before but I have no idea how it is done.

2. If you like I can be the hearder of the leech uploading/deleting etc.
I would suggest that you all bookmark this page http://izonews.com/ (http://izonews.com/) . There you can find information on what has been released lately and the search engine is sweet. You can not download anything there though. Drop me a line if you think many would be interested in that game/release and I will see what is out there.

Btw all uploads are done and you can leech away. Remember to not leech when people are online playing CS.

Has anyone had a bash as A&D or DEX2? As both these don't work for me.

A&D has a crack executable that doesn't match the game executable (game.exe rather than ArmedAndDangerous.exe)and subsiquently doesn't work, even after renaming etc..

DEX2 gets as far as the load screen for the first level and then locks. I'm getting 100% CPU usage from the Launcher.exe, but the game only ever started once and now nothing.

Just a confirmation that they do both work would be enough to keep me perservering.

Ta

Ps. Any reason why I can't start a new thread in Announcements - Private? Is it an admin only thing? In which case no problemo  :)

Well you shouldn't. The game.exe is found in

..\Armed and Dangerous\GameData

and is very overwriteable ;)

On the leech there is a NoCD patch aswell (just uploaded). :D
