the management of the money supply is an important tactical feature of css. i have a suggestion for the servers. at the start of every map you have 5000$. "normally", you have only 800$ at the start.i think when you have only a little money at the beginning, there are more tactical possibilities. it will make the game less predictable, improves the fun and the tactical eventualities. this will make the game much more varying and dynamic. what do you think about it?

It is all the same if you now start with 800 or 5000 it doesn't matter it doesn't change a thing.
It all depends on your gameplay, how you are using your money etc.
Means that the second round, win or lose first one you dont have pistols vs M4/AK which isnt a bad thing.
Perhaps a bit off-topic, but perhaps we might want to put "You start the first round on each map with 5.000 $, use them wisely." or something of the sorts, for the (sadly) few people that actually read the MOTD when first joining us. That would perhaps save some people the experience of trying to glock a ten-man team of CTs, fully armed with M4A1s and full body armour on the first round.
Even more off-topic, I've just noticed how often I wrote the word "perhaps" in a two-sentence paragraph. Can't be asked to change it now though

Please change it.
ha! there, you were asked! :P
on topic...what Bastet said. The 5k means both teams start off on an even footing with decent weapons and don't have to contend with "the pistol round" which is more a match-thing. Used carefully this should allow for at least two rounds of half-decent gear until you're buying a deagle and a flashbang :)

I am one of those that use a glock or usp against a fully armed team, as i almost never buy up the first round.
But everyone plays differnt and that is a good thing:flirty:
on nearly every map,, the defenders have a big advantage. for example aztec, dust, cbble etc. i think when they are able to buy rifles from the beginning, the advantage increases.

I disagree that thwey always have the advantage but the idea is to work as a team and make tactics to overcome them. it works :)
But then again, not everyone stays in the back to pick off left overs for their guns. So everyone playing different...
It has 5k, use it. Teamplay all the way. If I die first and loose a decent gun, so be it. If my team wins with just me getting shot, so be it.

Don't forget, attacking team also gets to buy those fancy rifles. If the advantage exists, it won't be increased by money issues, unless it's only for the team that already has the advantage, which is not the case in the first-round scenario depicted here.
anyways the first round will be "equal" as both teams will either start with rifles and body armour, or only a usp/glock
its not like one team get colt and armour and other only get glocks...
diffrence is that with rifles u get kill much faster as u need like 2 magazines in the head to kill someone with glock, and only 1 bullet in the head with ak...
but still as long as both teams are(?) able to buy rifles and body armour it isnt to unfair...
that my opinion^^
I don't mind starting of with $5000 but I do agree that starting with a "pistol round" makes for more tactical decisions and more cautious game play. "Do i buy a deagle or will i buy some armor?" On top of that i just love a good old pistol round at the start of a map :p
The bad thing about the 5k is that some players actually rejoin just to get the starting 5k again. I ended up kicking one guy several times because of him reconnecting several times just after he had been shot...
As a small comment from a CS noob:
If you were to reduce the starting amount, it would make things quite much harder from those that don't play that much. Now it doesn't happen often that I log on, but it happens I feel like a round on the MH or something. If I than have to start figuring out what I can buy of a deagle or some armor, I would kinda have a hard time really, as I really don't have a clue what is better or worse than the other...
If that made any sense
The $5K is fine. It's not the money thats a problem if the map is unfair, after a few rounds the same would happen no matter what the starting money. I like it, because if you follow someone you can pretty much guarantee they'll either kill or be killed with their fancy rifle. Either way there will be a nice gun going spare. just buy some armour and grenades.
P.S: Don't use this advice or I'll have to start buying my first round weapons. I only said it so you'd all realise how amazingly clever I am.

That is np at all m8. If that happens you will learn soon enough what to buy and on what time (the amount of money you have).
If you havn't installed a buyscript then install one as it helps you alot:flirty:
for source i use "nextwish"
for cs:cz i use "rzzeh helper" (or something like that)

Tbh i havent seen a map where a fairly good attacker team cant, mildly said, kick the shizzles out of the defenders, that i where the tactical part comes in... Use variated attack patterns, full rushes, then waiting a bit before going in next round, use diversions, sneaky tacs and so on, if you variate it a bit, then it isnt really hard for defenders to get it, look for example at de_dust, left full rush to A is a well proven tac that gives ct's a hard time, tho when used to often, they tend to figure out :D

I have started to use that "default" buy script that is accessed by F1... And than I kinda just buy a fancier rifle when I see I have to money for it...
Are those defaults that are implemented decent enough?
