Title: Your syrupwaffledealer (stroopwafel)
Post by: DuVeL on July 10, 2007, 01:55:42 PM
Good afternoon, this is your sir syrupwaffledealer typing. It seemed that last time I was at a a -=[dMw]=-LAN there was quit a demand for syrupwaffles.
I will be attending this November-LAN and I want to know who's interested in a pack of syrupwaffles (it will depend on how much lugage I can take with me).

For the rest, some info about them and a recipe;
A Little More Stroopwafel History:
These delicious Caramel Cookie Waffles (called Stroopwafels by the Dutch) with richly filled chewy centers are one of Holland's true specialties.

The history of the Stroopwafel goes back until 1784. A baker from Gouda baked a waffle of old crumbs and spices and filled this waffle with syrup. The Stroopwafel was born. In fact the Stroopwafel was a rest product. And therefor a popular pastry among the poor.
During 1784 the Stroopwafel was only known in Gouda. Nowadays every bakery in Gouda has its own recipe.

Did you know.... that every Dutchman eats about 20 Stroopwafels a year!

We are driving during the night... but who knows, I will keep an eye out.

Haha... it is! Now we just need a bridge that is out and some ramp and stuff. I am sure the good doctor wouldn't mind :whistle:

Now there's a thought...Profit going to serverfunding? Or I buy them and sell them for serverfunding (so it has my serverfunding included aswell)...

@ all, Delan is right. They are in a rather large pack.

@ Luminance, they can buy Liquorice candy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquorice_candy) and Grolsch over there in the supermarket aswell (there's even a bar down the road which has Grolsch). Stroopwafels can only be bought at Starbucks for quit a bit of money.

ooh, some of them sweet treats would be very nice!

I've seen similar syrup-waffle things in starbucks over here (I believe the idea is you put them on top of your coffee-mug and that warms them, making them even more deadly :D ) but they could be something different. Been a while since I had the real deal :)

Hektor,

Refrain immediately from trying to score drugs or any other illegal items from this community. If I see it again I will have no choice but to campaign for your ejection from the dMw community.

While we have a good time and a laugh dMw is a respectable community and I for one am disappointed to see a post such as yours. You don't even know Duvel for one, and even if you did you should not be discussing drug deals of any kind in any open forum let alone on this community's forum.

Please think before posting something like that. We have a lot of new memebers recently which is fantastic but I don't want them getting the impression that that is the type of community we are. JOKE or NOT.

Thanks,

NF

How it's going to be;
Me buying a box full of syrupwaffles, send them to the hotel in a package.
Depending on how much it costs to buy and post them and then sell them at the LAN. Money going to Server funding.
So, I reckon TL can add a box of syrupwaffles to the server funding...:flirty:

I would definitely buy some stroopwafels from you, the more people that order we can share the postage costs.

I'll take 5 boxes :woot2:, 3 of which can go towards the tourney prizes, perhaps for second place.

I hope to get them next Monday and then post them.
BTW, better not to order straight away, buy them at the LAN.
Next week I've probably got more info.

I'm donating 20 packages (in every package are 10 syrupwaffles if I'm correct) of syrupwaffles to the serverfunding so I have 20 packs to sell at the LAN. Costs per package; £2.50.
Remember, they're jummy and you can buy them so you support the -=[dMw]=-Community!
