A good week's racing using the game's slowest car on the tricky city-based circuit where close racing was the norm. With power lacking it was essential to maintain clean lines for fast times. Overtaking was difficult with most being achieved by capitalising on other's mistakes. Thursday's 25 lapper saw many racers dropping out having rolled their cars and one racer managing to run out of fuel. The last three laps saw our own Deetzy close right up on the leader who pitted very late in the race. It looked like a win might be on the cards but Tunaaja drove without serious incident and crossed the line a second ahead of him. Superb. A mention for two other notable achievements. This was Ben's first long 'un using FCV and he appeared to adapt without so much as a grumble. Well done mate. And well done too to our newest buddy, EarlHaz. Having received his wheel only that morning he managed to bring his car home in 6th place and only 1 lap behind a pretty nippy winner.:thumb:
As for the rest of us well only Doorman can be totally excused as his connection went fubar during the race.

I can neither confirm or deny this event taking place, I have no recollection of the event ever occurring:sad:
Great report. Makes me wish I was there.
I'm just chuffed that I managed to finish :D Earl did actually overtake me for 5th but spun, so I got it back.
So if Oldies going to do a post-race report from now on....5th, that's like 4 points....not like I'm keeping score or anything.
I thought this combo worked well and I would certainly like to see it return in the future. The only change I would suggest is that the long 'un is reduced from 25 to 20 laps. Other than that, great fun. :thumb:
I liked it too; and the long race was a good one, even though most of it I was just mooching along on my own at the back.
