As you will have seen from the SOG member section, Marduk has applied to another guild. Just so you folks know, the guild he has applied to is Genesis (the link to his application is still visible in the public application side of the Genesis forums (http://forums.genesis-eu.org/index.php).
Some weeks ago at the third or fourth time of asking I decided (possibly against my better judgement) to accept an officer position in Genesis so I am directly involved in the recruitment of new members. To the best of my knowledge nobody in Genesis has sought Marduk's application and it is something he appears to have done himself when he heard that Daedalus was stepping down from raiding to focus on his exam resits.
Whereas we have actively approached a number of better-geared paladins in other raiding guilds about this vacancy, we are well aware of Genesis & SOG's special relationship and have a sort of un-written rule that we do not actively recruit from SOG, so please accept my word that we have not actively recruited Marduk, this appears to be his own decision to apply to Genesis again.
As Marduk said in his forum post: I wanted you to know the truth from Genesis direct, rather than hearing some half-truth rumour from elsewhere.

With the school holidays now going on, I've been online during the early day and afternoon. The guild is usually fairly empty, and it has been, without exception, impossible to get a group together for instance runs or grinding.
The other person usually online is Marduk, pvping with Ashjen or solo grinding the dailies. He always laments the empty guild.
I know Duk is a damn fine healer, but he is very tetchy. I'm always wary of recruiting him to a party because if he loses interest the run turns into a disaster. He becomes grumpy and loses his temper.
In all honesty, he has outgrown SOG (imho) - his gear is much better than most, he needs little or nothing from KZ, and SOG does not have large enough membership to guarantee a player like Duk (who is virtually constantly online) the opportunities to advance as he requires.
I was surprised when he returned to SOG originally. I'm not surprised that it has come to this.
I am with lucian. and I will also add that it is up to marduk what he want. I think he has one of our best healer turnups for raids.. and if he leaves we still got enough healers for kaz for the time being (as marduk points out in his thread). And as lucian says, the guild is fairly empty during daytime. even when i get home from work it is rather empty. but get fast filled up during the evening (i usually get time for one 5man standard/heroic). think we have beckome the sosial guild as we vanted, atleast during evenings. and i think marduk want more raiding then what we can offer.

ok. he has gone over to genesis. and i hear Gen also got another player:
garagrim. So grats gen for being a growing raiding guild. Hope it will become some joined forses some day =)
As I understand it he has left Genesis already and is back in SOG due to the fact that Garagrim was invited to Genesis. If I got that wrong then maybe I misread the Gen forums (I have had an enforced 3 day absence due to BT accidentally cutting through my telephone wires whilst digging up a pavement).
During this absence not only Garagrim but also Luthor was invited to join Genesis on a trial. Frankly the thought of spending 25 hours per week on teamspeak raiding with these two made me feel physically sick, so I am now considering my position with Genesis. I may resign as a Genesis officer, I may also gquit Genesis and join a different raiding guild as I really do not want to be part of any guild that has those two ****tards as a member. Watch this space.

fyi, i invited marduk back in the guild on sunday (bypassing the application system)
we were talking in /o and i wished that duk comes back, and i had a tip off that duk was itching to rejoin, so the oppurtunity was taken immediately
What was the outcome?
Marduks back in, after not wanting to ask again cause he didnt think youd have him back after last time he left
Hopefully he'll stay a little longer now...
