I understand that this has been discussed in the past, but i don't think I was part of that discussion and what the pros and cons where.

Anyone care to comment?

My view is that as long as we are enough people showing up every night it should not be allowed. If someone wants to race with us they will wait ten minutes. If not, they are not the kind we wanted anyway. Too many people joins, starting to race us, taking us out and then leaves. Or they just join race one/part of a lap crash and disconnects. Not the kind we want. As far as I know we actually want the ones that appreciate that mid race join is NOT allowed.

Forcing people to spectate and learn a few minutes can only be a good thing.

I don't mind waiting when I join.

While I tend to agree with you, in that there's no way you could nip down to Brands Hatch and jump in a race, it's one of the things that gives LFS its appeal. Also many of the people that join midrace understand the ethics (just north of London) and behave accordingly. There's no real alternative to handling(?:blink:)dickheads other than the way we deal with them already.
Having said that, eventually we'll have enough pukka blokes to make the server private.

If it was put to a vote then I'm with Verner on this as I don't mind waiting and often do when I join the server, but.... I'm happy with how things are, unless it's me that gets hit by the tard flying out of the pits on cold tyres with a pitlane speeding offence splashed across his screen. :ranting2:

Well...if I join the server when race is going on, I often join the race, but...

I never really try to compete with anybody. I wait there is a good long break in traffic before I enter the track. And then I try to stay away from all other racers and do not try to overtake them (unless they go off the track).

I do this because it takes me some time before I get myself warmed up especially if I haven't driven the combo for some time. Other choise would be to wait until the next race starts and then suck like a vacuum cleaner...and possibly take some innocent racer out with me.

First off, welcome to our forum. As with most of the discussions around here they're designed (hopefully) to curb the excesses of the less sensible element of LFS. You know; morons. Question we have to ask ourselves is, will any measure taken upset the good guys more than it will curb the idiots.
I think we have reached a level of discipline on DMR that is just about right. We don't want to become too....Becky Rose. :D
