Title: Dropping my dMw tag....
Post by: Grimnar on August 17, 2007, 09:56:58 PM
In short words i have had enough.

I am really starting to feel unwelcome on any of the dMw server.
With the things changing the last few months things arn't the funny place as it was before.

Today just was enough and it showed once again why i started to dislike playing cs.

First i got specced....  Then i get freaking comments from peeps that arn't doing the objective or don't know the game.

start of round 2 maps in a row we play 6/9 with the 9 on the easy side of the map and then i am last one alive after 30 sec of play and get freaking shouted at.

srry but **** off!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always showed the new peeps how we try to play always tried to help our new members (bravo's) the play the map we where playing at the moment.
And yes i have a gameplay most of you can't understand or play like. I have never been a team player in your eyes and i guess i never will be.

My best play is when i am alone with the space to move around not with people standing next to me, that has been so from when i started to play cs.

But tonight it was enough, i really noticed i wasn't welcome anymore. So i dropped my tag and left the server.

That's a shame Ice. Every team needs a lone sniper watching their backs

Sorry to hear about your decision Ice. :( Really seems like you made your mind up about this though, maybe you will feel better later on.

Sorry to hear that Ice but as you rightly say - our gaming style doesn't really tally with yours.

Take care.

As Pete says, are you still planning on coming to the LAN in November??

Shame your dropping your tag !

I too have noticed a change in style/attitude (whatever you want to call it) over the last wee while and can't decide whether it's good or bad.
The lone crusader now gets flamed, but I don't remember that happening too much in the past (may it did and I didn't notice)!

I must admit, I don't get to wound up what anyone on either team does as long  as they obey the boundaries/no-entry signs.

Strange, I have not felt anything change.
Personally, I think a lone crusader at a team of 5-6 min, is useful as it distracts the attention off the rest of the team and causes a comotion; sometimes I even am the one to do that (if BK doens't spot and kill me first :ninja: ), while letting all mates in the team know that.
Maybe it's just that you have to announce your deeds to your mates so they know? This is not a tough request, is it?

the lone crusader, used as part of an agrred team strategy is fine.

The person who regularly stands back and lets his team mates get shot and tries to score kills rather than achieve the objective is not ok. Some people are regularly "last man standing" on every map because they do not try to make the objective - they spend more time trying to stay alive and score kills.

:withstupid:

Going off on your own to cause a distraction is a valid tactic, as long as it is part of the TEAM strategy.
Going off on your own every round (even when different tactics are called) is frag hunting.

You yourself state that you do not play TCS. If you got ****ed off on Rio because I said "I bet Ice never will touch the hostages" then be ****ed off. I don't care to be honest. That night I was on for four maps at the same time you were on. On every map you were almost always the last to die on your team and you were lingering about for 1-3 extra minutes while your team were dead. I grant you that you are sometimes successful in what you did, but you have no clue what teamplay is all about. TCS is all about teamplay and tactics and involving ALL players in the team.

Maybe you are right Ice, there have been a change on the servers. The admins do not accept fraghunting and not even trying to completing the objective. Bravo and Charlie members should always play objective oriented and helping the team out. As a member of Charlie company,
you are supposed to promote TCS in your actions and the way you play. In your post you describe how you play and maybe it is our fault, the senior admins, that we haven't acted on it before.

A minor techincal point:

IceHawk has been Alpha Company for a few days now, so it is totally pointless trying to pee on his corpse as he cannot see it.

Just thought you all ought to know.
