Title: SourceMod Commands
Post by: Whitey on August 18, 2007, 01:48:22 PM
I've created a page on my website with a list of the Admin commands we have available in SourceMod. Link on this (http://www.btinternet.com/%7Esrw_white/dMw/) page along with a link to the mindmap of the menu structure.

Feel free to join my server and play with the commands, it's currently running the VIP mod so you may want to get the client package from here (http://downloads.punkassfraggers.com/index.php?subcat=136) before joining.  All of the senior admins should have admin access to the server. bind a key to sm_super for the menu or type /super in chat :)

I wish it was, but the menu functions are part of the main Mod and not something I should/could modify.

Its not a solution but you can get to the top level menu quickly by pressing the key bound to sm_super again.

I know I'm a bit dense about such things, but am I right in thinking I need to download the file called (http://downloads.punkassfraggers.com/images/download.gif)                     VIP Mod V1.0 - Full Client Package (http://downloads.punkassfraggers.com/redirect.php?dlid=1254&PHPSESSID=98afc30b741946e033b5e80d0b10928d) which download a file called Vapour Beta 2?

I then visited the link to download the Vapour Content Delivery Systems but it takes me to a new site - Crosus and from there I can't find it.

Thanks

QuoteVIP Mod V1.0 - Full Client Package via the Vapour Content Delivery System

This is a download link to Vapour. In order to download the VIP Mod client, you will need to install the Vapour Content Delivery System (http://www.vapour-online.com/) and then browse to the Counter-Strike: Source Mods and simply click the "Install VIP Mod" button and Vapour will install everything on your system for you.

You need to have the .NET Framework installed in order to use Vapour. You can download it from either Microsoft Windows Update (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) or directly from the Microsoft website.

With all due respect to the Chair, it's you who seems unable to read Dr Mats.

If you had deigned to read my post properly before embarking on a course of mockery and frivolity you would have seen that Vapour-online and Crosus have merged and upon visiting their new site I couldn't find the link to download the content delivery system.

Now it may, or may not, be therein the Crosus site which is why I asked for some help.

The difference is that I already have VIP mod installed, well before both vapour and crosus. This issue is related to the program(s) once installed. As I understand it you didn't manage to download it ... so how would you know if it is working or not? The problem is in BOTH vapour and crosus. Vapour did work before but not now. So the questions are ... is it temporararily down or have they stopped supporting VIP mod?
I think the question in my post is valid IF we are using the VIP mod on our servers. It is a bit silly if only me, whitey and BB play while the rest of you try to get it working ... :eyebrow:

I have just spent all afternoon trying to get metamod/sourcemod/vipmod and sourcebans working on Baldric so we bloody well ARE going to play VIP mod if I have to email out the electrons individually!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whitey, I had to install metamod clean and then install a clean new version of sourcemod. I then copied across the config files you had edited one at a time checking after each one that the server would start. I don't know what there is wrong with the zipped directory structure but if I copy the whole thing it bombs the server! Server is now stable and loading SM/MM/SB. I am downloading a clean copy of as_recon and the server files for VIP mod and will install it once it has downloaded. It should be up and running for testing purposes tonight.

You owe me mega beers :)

It does work as that is how Kreg got it installed (from my home server). You do need to rejoin the server on your first join to allow the models etc to take affect and it can take a while to download.
I was trying to save on dMw's network usage by getting people to download it themselves.

I'll happily store the download on one of my work computers if that would help.

That is so long as one of you can remote access of the folding machines and set it up as I'm not sure what to do.

Could you change the mapcycle to be just as_* maps please.

Baldric crashed tonight on map change, but only after having been played with a number of times today and a couple of map changes before the crash.  It was changing to as_vespa when it crashed out.  Could the restart script be setup for Baldric to allow us to use it tomorrow night?

I am not totally happy with the bot control and swear filter but I don't see it stopping us going forward.  What we have is stable and all the main admin functions work fine, so lets roll it out and we can use Baldric to test the new releases of sourceMod and any plugin/config updates.

Did you have any luck finding another mapcycle.txt file anywhere on Baldric as the Map Menu is definitely looking at a file of that name?

I'll also have a look at what is in the current mapcycle on Meathook and Boomer as a few changes are needed.  I'll post up a revised cycle for comment/ammendment.

We should also look at removing some of the plugins from Meathook.  I don't see the need for things like the swear filter, team attack, Sourcebans etc on our private server, what do you think?

The mapcycle file is designated when we start the server as a command line option. The mapcycle file we were currently using is set as "+mapcyclefile vipmod27017.txt"

It looks as if SourceMod is looking for mapcycle.txt ie the value is hard-coded in the program. I can rename the existing mapcycle.txt and copy vipmod27017.txt to mapcycle.txt to keep it happy.

Now that those minor issues are sorted it will be great to get Boomer and Meathook done, especially Boomer.

When you get a chance (after Boomer and Meathook are done) can you also turn on the SourceBans plugin on Baldric again as it looks like it was the map causing the crash and not the plugin.

I've also uploaded the latest stable release of SourceMod to the FTP area. It can just be extracted into the cstrike folder as I've already removed the admin configuration files to stop them being overwritten.
