Seeing some people bought the game and were talking about this, have a read here;

its quite funny, more and more games gets hard anti piracy software, but after a little while more and more gets it removed, was the same thing with Spellforce II starforce protection, tho starforce was a immense pain for alot of people
All copy protection of this level does is stop people who have got legit copies of the game from playing it. The pirates still get round it. I bought a legit copy and was considering getting a ripped iso *as well* just to get around the protection (when I got home from buying it the activation servers were down, so I couldn't even play my legally bought game).
Also, they'd have to get rid of it at some point. Sooner or later it's not going to be cost effective to continue running the activation servers compared with the number of new people buying the game, and i'll be well annoyed if i can't play Bioshock 5 years down the line (like I do now occasionally with System Shock 2, Deus Ex, Thief and other absolutely awesome games) becuase I can't activate it.
