Seems that it's forbidden in the UK but in the NL it will be allowed.
We have a "Nanny State".
Do Dutch versions of Wii games have English language as well? Because I want the uncensored version just to see what all the fuss is about.
If I wake up at night screaming and shouting (any more that usual) or go out on violent killing spree's (again, any more than usual) then I'll agree with them.
Actually, come to think of it, using me as a test case might not be a good idea. :devil:

I don't have a Wii but most games have English I reckon.
I could get you the uncensored version if you want. I found a cheap gamesite which I'm currently compairing to play.com.
Let me know m8.
hmm so will you be taking orders and mailing us this game for us poor brits with an opressive government?

If it's allowed within the Legalsituation both here on the forums and sending games abroad for lets say a good friend who wants a game; Yes; Why not?

Lol.
What is all the fuzz about? :eyebrow:
This game will not be seld in the UK and various other countries. The Netherlands seems to be only country that will sell the "real" version of Manhunt 2.

Yeah I got that, but... is it like Carmageddon or what?
And why not just rate the game 18+ in all countries? :g: Edit: Got it...
If they can't sell the 'real' version outside the Netherlands I don't think they'll bother. I think they'll see it as too much extra work for too little return now that they've stopped work on the uncensored version and have been busy making one to get past the censors.
Basically the game involves hacking, slashing, beating and garotting people to death.
Imagine this trying to get past censors on a normal console with a game pad, now think about the Wii's controller, apparently you have to have the Nun-Chuck fitted to do the garotting.
For the UK-guys;

@ Carrot; I reckon they would bother, a game that wont be allowed in several countries will be just more popular by demand I think.
I'm getting old.
Great, I get to pretend to garrote someone with real actions. May be next time they can sell a pouch that squeezes my nuts every time someone fights back.
It's about time people stopped selling games on shock and awe and started selling them on content.
CS is good because when it started it was a new thing - team based, social and not too much emphasis on realism. It's content, playability and longevity.
GTA in the first 3d instance was good due to it's sandbox (*shudder, I really am a twat) nature.
I've got an idea, let's do a;
- shooter and give it a twist - yeah, underwater (but still in the dry)
- 'nother GTA clone, only in this one can you sexually harass a dead wombat
- life sim, it's like the Sims, only you can use the naked mod and harass tramps in parks
- shooter, but this one is different, you can do rocket...err I mean....taliban jumps.
I'm sick of the same old rehashed shite. If it's not rehashed it's Daily Mail bait. Manhunt was crap. I know because I downloaded it and cracked it then played it and wished I hadn't.
The only thing that is worth re-doing is sport - Pro Evo 6 has differences and you can never really complete it. You could argue that with GTA I suppose, and I did enjoy it, but more of the same - let's get imaginative. Make the lead a girl. Make it harder to steal cars. Make one shot kill you. Step outside the box, it's nice out here.
Manhunt crap...never seen such bad game...:doh:

It's largely a moot point. Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft have all said that they refuse to licence AO games for their consoles, so even if the Netherlands say it's OK to release the game the console makers won't allow it, and as they control the hardware their opinion counts too.
Madden '08 FTW
The BBFC has rejected a revised version of the video game Manhunt 2. This follows the rejection of the original version of the game in June. The distributor had set in motion an appeal to the Video Appeals Committee against that decision, and this was suspended while the revised version was considered for classification.
David Cooke, Director of the BBFC said: “We recognise that the distributor has made changes to the game, but we do not consider that these go far enough to address our concerns about the original version. The impact of the revisions on the bleakness and callousness of tone, or the essential nature of the gameplay, is clearly insufficient. There has been a reduction in the visual detail in some of the ‘execution kills’, but in others they retain their original visceral and casually sadistic nature.
“We did make suggestions for further changes to the game, but the distributor has chosen not to make them, and as a result we have rejected the game on both platforms. The decision on whether or not an appeal goes ahead lies with the distributor.â€
