Title: Free games on fileplanet.com
Post by: GhostMjr on August 31, 2007, 04:57:17 PM
Right just had a look on fileplanet and a few games have been released on their with ad support so they are made free by having ads in them. I am not sure of the full details but the ones that are on their so far are:

Far Cry

Prince of Persia Sands of Time

Ghost Recon

I don't accept spam in my email, so It'll be a cold day in Hades before I accept it in my games - "free" or otherwise.

Filesplanet can kiss my festering stump.

Prince of Persia Sands of Time cost me a whole £1 a while back, from ASDA. Farcry and Ghost Recon are pretty good games, but if they come with adverts not sure if it's worthwhile. But it's good to see a trend of releasing games free after they get to a certain age (like Tribes 2 a while back).

hmm downloaded the Farcry, cause i already had a fileplanet subscription with a few days left, so i downloaded the 2.7Gig, started the install, entered my ubi.com info, but apperently only U.S residents are able to play it for free...

Apperently there is two ways to sort this, one is to set yourself as US resident one ubi.com, i was told to do so from fileplanet support, or download from a European ftp server @ fileplanter should also sort it, or thats what the rumors say

The games are no longer available, the free games with adds were only intended for the us, so atm the offers no longer stands, until they get implemented to do some IP check when logging in to ubi.com
