Title: dMw New Fathers League
Post by: smite on September 02, 2007, 08:49:14 PM
Wish i had done this a few years ago... More from i am someone who has routines and likes to stick to them. Well that's screwed :flirty:.
I'm sure it would have been easier in my Twenties but then my Tolerance level was far worse than it is now.

The first four weeks have been tiring and tomorrow i start back at work..... First time in years i am looking forward to going back to Work.

This may sound negative but it's not meant that way it's more that nobody in any words can prepare you for this little person coming into your life and how it will affect you.

btw the counting to 10 thing sux.... the walking away hugging the dog, crying and using his ears as a towel is better .

As to show im not all miserable more pics added.

FAO Jas: leave these alone or im gonna slap ya :boxing:

Babies are the most trying, inconvenient, tiring, smelly & loud things made by man.

as they get older, they get easier to deal with from your present perspective, but they constantly change the problems you have to face; it's a new thing every few months, just when you think you got it sussed, up comes another aspect that you don't expect.

all worth it in the end (if you can ever get a pint out of em:sideways:)

@ Lee...girls are 20x worse:eyebrow:

The thing no-one told me was that you get sooo close to shaking them stupid when they are crying for the 50th night in a row, for no reason.

It's an incredibly fine line and whilst I can't fully understand, you can see how some people could go too far. Thankfully I haven't and my two have got past the colic, non-communicating stage.

Just as my teenagers re-enter the non-communicating phase, and shaking them seems to do bugger all.

Kids are by far the most life changing event any couple can go through (and the scariest....) and I think the most rewarding.  Thing is, nobody ever tells you just how much things are going to change.

I wouldn't change the experiences our three have given us - our eldest starts secondary school on Wednesday (eek! Where have the years gone )

Congratz Smite and enjoy your new adventure :D

Hi Smite, made me laugh when I read your post as a new father myself -

Isabella Dewey born on 4 August - can't be far of when yours was born (and good name chosen my man :D

Like you I feel its been a huge change, but one I'm enjoying, yes its hard when they cry and cry though izzy only cries when theres something wrong so I can't fault her for that. And though I'm biased as hell I think she's gorgeous :)

She was due on the 4th born at 21:29 on the 8th. Wish it was next year now...would have been easier to remember 8/8/08.

I refrain from saying anything about how she looks as parents can have serious beer goggles about there kids. Think ours are fookin Gorgeous though.....ssssSssshh don't tell anyone.

Congrats Smite & Dewey, and your respective Isabella's. :yahoo:

So that's you two, me, and Le Rouge who became parents in August (if I've counted right).  They must've been putting summat in the water last November.
