I am with you, I think. But the police putting in such an effort is also unlikely unless they feel worth digging into it.
Soz but - "arguida"?
I don't think so either. However, I am cautioned by the realisation that we do not know her, what her situation is and what information the police have that we don't. I think in short I hope she didn't but just not enough info to go on.
I'm not certain what to think to be honest, but i've always felt slightly suspicious about them.
Must admit I find it inconceivable that she did anything (other than being silly enough to leave the kids alone)!
How could they put on such a front for so long, with such media interest.
Are they saying that she may have done something without the knowledge of her husband and other kids?
There is another side to this. Once declared "arguida" she can no longer speak to the press etc. I believe it's also possible to declare yourself "arguida", so it's possible it was her choice.
The rules in Portugal do protect suspects more than here. The press here is rife with speculation and bull-juice.
It's sickening when I think of the poor girl. If she is alive. When it came back on the news a couple of nights ago, fairly late I was watching it in bed and my 3 year old daughter cried out in her sleep. It broke my heart to think of her doing that and having no-one there to comfort her.
If the parents are innocent, and we have no reason to suspect otherwise, they are mentally in a place I couldn't cope with.
The theories floating round here are that there was an accident and they are covering up, or that they didn't check as frequently as they said.

Yes and no mate.
I'm sorry but we, along with 1000's of other parents have done that on Mark Warner Holidays. That's part of what they're about (albeit where we go they have 10 mins patrols have a listening service etc).

11 hours of talking? my €$$, hope she didn't do it, but i have a bad feeling about it.
Every day that goes by, and every new announcement made, makes the Portuguese Police look worse and worse.
They cocked up the investigation from the start, and now they are trying to catch up.
the whole country(Portugal) is embarrassed about their medieval police force I would imagine.
either they are clutching at straws, or this is the most fantastic case of infanticide ever
I'll probably get jumped, on but every missing/turned out to be dead person of late seems to have someone up front pleading with the public, amid tears, to come forward with information. Almost invariably the sobber turns out to be the killer. That little fluffy toy she ALWAYS carries about is a bit of an affectation in my opinion. :g:But we must keep an open mind.
Doorman's not far off me thinks..
How can their kid's blood appear in a car they hired 25 days after the disappearance???
My inlaws think that the parents gave the kiddies a sleeping pill to make sure they didn't get up while they were out.. bit of an overdose and then paranoia as the cops got close..
"my neighbour was always quiet. I did notice that he painted his front door red and began digging up his front yard by torch-light in the middle of the night but never thought anything of it to be honest.."
The police are now suggesting that the McCanns hid the body for nearly a month before disposing of it.
That's very clever of them.
A fingertip search of the area at the time, followed by months of the most intrusive blanket media coverage ever seen failed to uncover any clues. Add to that the difficulty of hiding a body in a hot climate (it would stink).
I'm pretty sure that the cops have cocked up big-time and are now desperately trying to save face.
Why wasn't more made of the reported sighting of a man carrying a child in pink pyjamas in the direction away from the apartment?
The cops couldn't find their arse with both hands:sideways:
I personally have always found them suspicious and figured them guilty of something. I don't think they bundled her dead body into a rental car 25 days after she disappeared, I'm not sure how they'd do that with the attention they draw. But the way they've jet setted across Europe met the pople, talked to footballers, not returned home for months seems more than just concered parents, it's a publicity stunt, and covers up the actual news of parents whose story from the night differs slightly each week or so when it's recapped on the news.
It wouldn't suprise me if they left the girl on the beach alone when she disappeared and made up the from the appartment to make them sound less to blame.
Something doesn't add up, but I'm sure we'll know in a year or 2 when information comes to light, and there's been a trail etc.
Last year a girl was found in Austria 10 years after her disappearance, the media went mad, the girl sold story to press about her ordeal, family now re united, and rich.

Yeah, when still just missing I do wonder if this is going to be a new Natasha story, or what's her name...

Rich maybe, but too hard to put a price on missing 10 years of my child's life.

I think they said they left the patio door unlocked...I don't think that there was forced entry.
