Almost. Yes it goes in your skins folder but you have to first upload your new skin to LFS world,
THEN everyone else will see it.
Delete the original first.

This morning I received an email from one of our sponsors, a well known sports wheel manufacturer who said they would withdraw support unless I removed the logos of another well known sports wheel manyfacturer. In the light of the current economic climate I thought it prudent(where have I heard that before?) to comply with their wishes. However, I have managed to secure the sponsorship of a well known clutch and transmission manufacturer albeit at a slightly lower level of support. :) Because of their eleventh hour intervention I have made their logo bigger than the mean spirited well known sports wheel manufacturer's, so up theirs!
The sad thing about this is that one of our OWN number must have brought this to their attention. Well I hope you're pleased with yourself! :ranting2:

I observed in these skins you have put the LFS names, not the real names as earlier. So are you now going to use only LFS names? Not saying it is necessarily bad, just a change.
I also noticed earlier that Stoney had only 'Stoney' in his car and not the real name. I still cannot remember everybody's real names, but at least it was easy to spy it from the skin. :g:

I agree. I watched it in the CMX viewer and it has some nice details. The cockpit for example. You can read all the texts in those plaques. And the exhaust pipe looks now truly metallic and bit rusty. Then there are even some rivets on the outside surface! I bet while racing nobody can't even see them :blink: nice skin btw :)

Yes there is a chance but not until you've put in some time. I've made sets of skins for folk that we never see and I'm not about to do it again any time soon. Hang in there. :)

All the other FZRs have been updated with proper names, flags and rectification of some pixel bleed. (Jack the car up, crawl underneath and you'll see what I mean underneath the silencer.)(muffler, if you're a Yank!)

I make then in 2048 and take them to 1024 for you to upload.

Korrect! :) In fact, it was a whisker from being the car last week.
Team skins for the 2008 LX4s are now available. All skins are in a .rar file lx408.rar. Put only your own skin in the skins folder, use Aquilifer's little hack (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=217795&postcount=11)

Actually you put the DDS files into /skins_x folder. I made the bat more automatic so that I don't have to copy or move anything....
I have made a /tempSkin folder where I copy all the jpg files and I have this BAT and the nconvert.exe one folder

I was under the impression that low res skins were downloaded into skins_x :g: All my hi-res skins are in skin_y and skin_x is empty. Maybe it makes no difference where you put them. Anywhere except skins! :)

You just remember my negative comments. Last combo was fun, but I think I have been mostly commenting the bad sides. I think that can have at least some use if you do something about them. No use keep talking the good sides as they don't need action.

I've trimmed a bit of weight off the XRRs, they've now got carbon fibre mirrors instead of the fibreglass efforts. Oh, and the paint shop missed a bit over the front wheel arches. I've had words and they not only fixed it, I also got a refund. :)

Maybe, just maybe, because my eyes had been staring at that bf1 for an hour that the fxr skin just sort of everso slightly resembled a crash helmet in its design... right down to the visor :blink:

Having pondered the original question for a bit, I came to realise that to see 20+ cars running around with the same skin filled me with...something filling.
It would look awful! This way, individuality is preserved while at the same time showing a corporate image. :) I know I'm making work for myself but I've got to have something to fill these long winter nights.

I'm probably talking out the back of my head but in the new patch,(Z4) driving the xfg there felt a more realistic sense of adhesion. The car lets go in a very believable way. Then again I'm likely to be talking poo.
