Title: anyone else fancy a go at bf1942 mapping?
Post by: suicidal_monkey on June 08, 2003, 04:13:05 PM
It looks rather more complex than CS mapping and theres no specific tool for it, although there are tutorials and scripts based around 3dmax out there, and people are making custom maps. I am starting to "learn" how to use 3dmax, although most of that time is spent getting confused by the 300 or so buttons for doing stuff to the blocky thing I am making.

If anyone else is interesting in having a go at bf1942 mapping theres a forum for it here: http://www.battlefield1942.co.uk/forums/fo...p?s=&forumid=20 (http://www.battlefield1942.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=20) which looks pretty comprehensive.

Maybe in a month or so I will have worked out how to make a bumpy bit of ground with a building in it ;)
