Bump. Added POINTER 12. Actually, it's good to read them all again from time to time.
I think its not good to add rules like that.
If LFS allowes it in Hotlap, so should you.
In my mind curbs are a part of the track. Personally I think green curbs are not, but LFS thinks otherwise so we should accept it.
I Just reviewed a Hotlap by Biggie on our current combo. Biggie are several times on green curb with all 4 wheels.
I think it means don't cut corners by driving over the grass or gravel as the current track has about four places where you can gain time by cutting corners. I saw a few racers doing this last night and threw up some tyres and barriers to try and stop them.
Thank you brother o000o. :)
These are pointers to having the best experience possible on DMR. Rule was a bad choice of word, my bad. Example: At what point does taking a line, cross over to track cutting? We were all very happy when Ben laid down some tyres on the hairpin to stop people getting 4 wheels off the track, were we not? Not to mention the concrete wall at the exit of the back straight chicane. There are loads and loads of examples like that in LFS. If people adhere more or less to pointer 12 there wouldn't be the necessity for these actions. As for hotlapping--different world. LFS allows cars to run into each other, the AI do it most effectively, but it don't make it right.
This is all about 'play fair' which all of us do, well most of the time, exceptionally well. That's why folk come back to us time after time. :D

13. When the race is over please keep the track clear for those people who are still lapping.
14. Never intentionally drive the wrong way around the track.
15. Drive within your limitations. Driving wrecklessly from one incident to another will result in a ban.
16. If you have connection/config/setup problems, sort them out yourself. Don't bother the professionals when they have far more important things to do. Particularly between races.

Comments on Pointers to driving with dMr.
Any suggestions for rules etc; post discuss them here.
I have a suggestion:
If you spun out or otherwise got off track, be cautious when returning to the track. Check the minimap for incoming traffic before you get back and always give way to them. Return to the track in a parallel way to it, not at a right angle.

Funny: I was just thinking about this today. I also thought that if you crash badly, even roll over and stop on your roof, it would be better not to spectate right away, like trying to escape from having others to crash on you. If it happens then it happens, others have to slow down drive around like in real situation. But perhaps it's better to spectate when most of the drivers have passed you once.
Good ones. I'll load them into the bible.
I might have one. This is more technical rather than racing thing.
"Do not run torrent or any other application at the background which can cause eccessive lag and thus accidents in races."
I got rammed by Iron because he had forgotten torrent on and he lagged and lag caused lfs to think his car continued on it's old path straight into my rear boot.
I'm guilty of that one too - although its funny, as i never get any lag at all, you're the only one that sees me lagging.. you sure its not you? ;)
Yeah, pretty sure. If I see only one person lagging, I think I can say it's him :g:
It's ok if you forget, but not to keep them running on purpose.

Otherwise I am sure you will be there to let him know
FYI I get lag with all of you, and you might get with me, but that is a packet loss/ISP issue I am working on.
I won't add that one because it might open the floodgates to all kinds of dos and don'ts about things which aren't strictly to do with driving etiquette etc.
Ending up with 'Don't beat your wife prior to a race as it gets the heart rate going too much' :)
