Pre-ordered too. Already completed Peggle so it's not worth anything at all really. But I don't own Ep.1 already so it's not too bad for me getting the pack.
If you really don't want the pack it's just a matter of waiting for the release date, when it'll probably come out seperate of the pack.
I'm starting to wonder what will come with Ep.3, because if it's nothing on Par with CS:S or TF 2 is going to be worth getting?

Yeah, but as most people already have them what the hell is the point? Valve are trying to pull a fast one but they won't be catching me with this poorly executed attempt to rip people off.

Well, if I have to buy TF2 and EP2 for 29.95 each then it is  worth it. Also I am quite interested in Portal (another 19.95) as I read some really good reviews on it.

I don't see £26.50 as being all that bad for TF 2 on it's own. If it's anything like CounterStrike:Source I'll play it for years. I paid more for Battlefield 2 and played it FAR less. The fact it comes with Ep.2 is good and Portal is great. I didn't have Ep.1 already, so thats good to get for free, but it would have still been decent value for money without it.

(as for "Peggle Extreme" I like having extra games in my list, I liked when Sam and Max showed up as 6 individual games, just looks cool to me, but if not it can always not be installed. Since it's free it's not a big deal...bit of a time passer)

Also if TF 2 doesn't turn out to be that great I can quite easily say I've spent money on worse things, a Belkin Router for instance...urghhh.

If you've go to someone else's steam account it'll download all the games you have when you log on so you can never loose them (it also keeps compatibility with new operating systems so will last longer than the disk version).
And if you're worried about loosing the password etc then if you've used a debit/credit/paypal you've got an electronic record proving ownership aswell as the traditional password retrival systems. It's really quite secure.

The Valve team said late evening (they're 8 hours behind GMT) so probably going to be a while, but it's now so close I can taste it.

P.S: To try and get rid of any issues with my steam games, like lag and longer than I'd like loading times I defragged all my files using GCFscape and it says it's going to be 30 mins before I can play CS:S again, because it's "updating" even though all the files are there. How will I pass the time now?

What is this TF2 malarky and do I need to order HL2 etc (don't have HL2).
I see it's available via the Orange Box so is that my best option?

TF2 is Team Fortress 2. Originally a mod for Quake back in 1996. The idea is that you have classes/characters with unique skills. They are experts of this skill but completely worthless when it comes to everything else. So if you are a medic you can heal people better than God. But if you fire a gun you will most certainly kill yourself, your teammates, and yes maybe even God with one bullet. However, the enemies would be ok. So the game is based upon these characters and together you try to win over the other team.

If you want it you should buy the orange box and you will get the other games as well. Have a look at the trailer for Portal that is also included and you will find that interesting too.

The only really sensible way for you to get it is the orange box, this will get you HL2, EP1, EP2, etc. I'm sure there will be lots of free copies of HL2 and EP1 floating around in about a month but then you'll have to buy TF2 on it's own when it's officially released, and you won't get portal or EP2. The orange box is great value and TF2 is a really fun polished game, well worth the Box price alone (can say that for sure now I've played it). Plus get the box set and you can play it right now.

TF2 gameplay is like the Doc said, you've got to work as a team a team full of medics would probably not die very often, but you'd never kill anything, and a team full of Heavy Weapons guys will be out run at every opportunity. Pair up a medic and HW-guy and you'll have a tank, virtually bullet proof with a powerful weapon. Add an engineer to re-arm him if he runs out of ammo and there's no stopping you....but this combo is slow, so can be out run by a scout with ease.
As a scout though you're weak and only deadly at close range. So maybe the spy is better, creap up behind someone while disgusied as their team and stab them in the back (backstab is 1 hit kill), and while disguised you can walk past the enemy turrets, and even sabotage them.
So many different options...so many hours of fun.

With Steam games you can copy the folder accross a network easily enough and it plays. (My brothers Steam files for CS:S work when I copy them into my steam folder - very useful after a format/corruption) As long as you own the game it will work. That is providing any files you find on a torrent site are the uptodate unadulterated steam files.

Also people need to use this new server more, we need 6 people on to have a good game. It's fun. (maybe an easing of password to get people into the server at first could help as I'm not sure how many people can play TF2 yet)
