CS is dead in dMw
That's what was said, just over a year ago, by the then head of the CS section within dMw. We had not long introduced SOG into the community and he and other prophets of doom were predicting that this was the end of dMw as a multi-gaming community. WoW, he said, would quickly assert its dominance and there would be no place for tired old games like CS with its dwindling player base. Well, good riddance to him (and some others too).
So a replacement was sought and we were lucky to have an obvious and ideal candidate - Whitey. His belief, dedication and the help he mustered from within dMw has meant that CS is, in fact, very much alive. How ironic that it was SOG members who helped boost player numbers in those early days of Whitey's tenure and, with the servers busy again, they were soon joined by others discovering the joys of CS played the dMw way.
So, on this anniversary and on behalf of 'the management', I want to thank Whitey and his band of helpers for all that's been done to ensure that CS is still being played and enjoyed within our community. Long may it continue.

Well said Oldie.
We all know that under the aegis of Whitey CS has undergone a transformation and I'd like to echo your sentiments. CS in dMW is as stronger now that it has been for a good couple of years imho.
Nicely done team !

Well put Ob. Well put. :yahoo:

Bring on the in-house league I say! We have enough interested players now..
Most importantly I agree 100% with OB. Lots has gone on but our mainstay CS (now CS:S) has really come back to life recently. Without the efforts of the likes of Whitey it surely would have fallen by the wayside.
Well done. :D

Something will be announced thereon forthwith.
Be still my beating heart......

Yup Nice one Whitey
Nicely done Whitey...
BTW, I shall return when the time is right (read, get more time to play instead of building houses and such).
For now; :dmw:
I though Whitey WAS "the management" :norty:
Well done Whitey and the rest, I still remember the first time I accidently stumped upon a dMw server, back in the CZ days, and was immediately hooked
I think it was three or four years ago, while writing a review for the local "Time Out" magazine on the CZ. I carried (for a short while) the alias "fresh", as I was very fresh to CS, and I explicitly remeber rushing the bridge in Aztec with the lot of the team, while some1 said (was it OB?) "Oh, we have "fresh" here with us" :D
LR.
Well said OB and well played Whitey. Whitey and the other Admins put in one hell of a lot of effort and work behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly - it's something not many members see and even fewer appreciate. GJ all!

I dont know what happened in the past with the clan because I am still a newboy. But what I do know is.....
I used to play CS:S for a clan called Team Hellspawn when I first played the game it blew me away but the enjoyment was taken away by terrible servers, immature players and in terms of the clan the CL's would recuit anyone that came along which led to lots of in clan problems which lead to the clan disbanding.
So when I came across dMw it was a breath of fresh air the mature yet fun the way the game is played the tactical CS is cool.
There seems to be lots of good guys in the clan
And what also impresses me is the recuiting process to some it may seem long winded to some but to me Im happy to wait 3 months and (hopefully) be invited to wear the tag.
So, to all the people involved in the running of this clan.
WELL DONE AND THANKS
Ps. Not been on the server in a bit as im holidaying in Spain will be back on soon :)
My thanks go to the people who play on our servers and make it a fun place to be, especially to the CS Admin team and the server admins for helping implement our ideas.
We have had to make some major changes within the community over the last year and if the popularity of the servers and forum are anything to go by we must be doing something right. :g:
We've still got lots of work to do, Admin training has started but could take a few weeks to complete and we have the ladder as "a work in progress". I would also like to see dMw active in ED again, once we have the foundations in place to make it happen (the ladder should help).
I'm sure dMw will continue to evolve and I see that as the best way to avoid extinction. :)
Good job chaps :)
lets keep it up
A great thx to whit and his merry band of lille helpers, you made a great place for people to meet and have a little fun ;)
Again great thx to you guys and all you other people
Keep up the good work, right now I can't see the CS:S players we have here all giving up at once*. dMw is a sanctuary from all the servers where people shout hax everytime you kill them, or rush like mad. Long may in continue.
*unless TF2, Crysis or UT3 are as good as the hype, but I doubt any of them will kill the CS:S community.
Firstly, thanks Whitey and all the admins at every level, also thanks to all members of dMw that make this community what it is.
On a personal level, I'm very great full to the members who kept on with CS/CZ/CSS after it appeared the CS scene was in decline, if it wasn't for you lot I would be rather lost after quiting WoW.

I managed 1 ED game soon after joining Charlie, it would be great to start playing in a league :). definitely interested :)

So, has this perhaps mad us earn a SOG-tag similar to the :dmw: one? :flirty:
But I guess one saying 'Whitey' would be more in place really. Job well done, both to you and your helpers :worship:
jeebus, this has turned into some kinda mutual backslapping fest of love.
dMw is and always will be about the community, and the sooner we get that in order by getting rid of people like Ninja, Squonk, Smite and the over keen Scottish people the sooner we can revel in our successes. ;)
Nice one Whitey, you've done a grand job. (that's all your getting from me)

Congrats everyone! I have to say i've even noticed a difference from when i first joined. :D
Well spoken OB, and congrz all of :dmw: on a job very well done!
Id join the line and add special thanks to the other admins, and whitey in paticular.
GAME ON!
Yes well done Whitey, no easy task to engender a culture of mutual respect and keep people of all ages and nationalities involved and allow all to have a voice within the team/ community.
Didn't Scotland win a football match too ?
I'd be surprised..........:boxing:
Well done Whitey great job :D
hear! hear!
youre making indeed a great job guys
keep it up!
I wonder what became of the clan that was formed by the splinter group?
Ohhhh you're too cruel you (http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h284/mpppen/Smilies/evil.gif)

well done.. took a year but well played THE GAME TO PLAY.
That splinter group are still about smashing things up as they go, i heard they have had quite a few tropheys in that year..
Good luck keep it up white one.

Thats the difference Doris, we feel there is so much more to life than trophies; things like respect for other players and not trying to screw your mates over. Why you bother showing your face around here I really don't know.
cos im a friendly kind of guy.. majority of 'mates' are in vG. trophies arent everything your right, its the way the game is played.. and were playing it alot better than we used to.
Take the hint - you aren't welcome!
back on topic..
Congrats if you ever need a scrim or anything im sure were raring to go.
Well said that man, good job guys, good gaming! It is appreciated! :)
Hi folks... just dropped in to congratulate Whitey on a job well done ... Kyle tipped me off that you folks you were talking about us so just thought I'd take a gander .....
oops.... looks like I picked the wrong time !!???
anyway... mutual respect and love to all ...
missin' us ??
This thread is about CS and the work done here, not about mud slinging. Let's keep it on track please, everyone. Thank you.
