I still have nightmares of DarkAngel and Sheepy eating away on them enormous steakes. I am sure the same challenge will be up again this year at the LAN... and maybe some more would like to challenge our (so far?) superior eating champion, Sheepy? Maybe some of the BIG-chaps?
Since dMf was relaunched 16-18 days ago we have increased our daily output quite a bit. A quick estimate is 30-40% increase in output. A nice increase in users as well, including one new. And these chaps are folding fast!
And wth does this have to do with eating steaks??:)
Well... I have a little challenge. So far this month we have done, at this time, 94,511 points of research in protein folding. A normal month puts out about 185,000 points in total. BUT this month got off to a really crappy start... If we manage to reach 200,000 before this month ends (not as easy easy as it sounds) Duvel and I would each like to buy a beer to the winner of the eating competition! But that is ONLY if we reach 200,000 points in this month. We are also working on maybe adding a few packs of the most excellent dutch waffles to the price, that is still a w.i.p. though.
This link here shows how we are doing

So! You guys that are not folding, come on! Install the client for 14 days and help us make the eating contest even more interesting :D And for those of you who used to fold but haven't come around to installing the client again after perhaps a reinstall... come on :thumb:
This is ONLY if we make the 200k!
As Delan said, get Folding.
And don't worry about the proteins being made because of the steak-eating-contest.
Pictures will be made of the contest...That is, if we fold 200k!!!
I'm glad I started folding again :D
Will sort out my home rig tonight
Hoping to get my hands on my mate's Quad core soon :)
Delan and Duvel putting in there hands in there own pockets to pay for something (going on Delan is a student and Duvel an artist of building (how elequently put BTW) as they rank right up there with solicitors and other ambulance chaisers of the world for being as tight as ducks bums when it comes to paying for stuff, i may have to take up this challenge.
Secondry not as Duvel is an artist of sorts...
Q: what do you call an Artist that has no girlfriend?
A: Homeless
Cheers ghoule you... scary looking fella! :D
Lol, I'm not an artist of building but what-ever an architect thinks of, I have to draw and check if it suits the Dutch building laws.
I forgot what the correct term was over in the UK.
To much work to do, so less gamingtime...This week allready worked 26 hours and the Wednesday just started! :boxing:
Ghoule, trust me, I do give away a fair share of beer at the LAN. So tight? You might be when Benny comes around you @ the LAN.
Bring lube...
LOL i had kinda guessed just couldnt be bothered to fire up word (or any thing with that thing with words on it so i dont have to think) to check the spelling so i didnt look like an idiot. regards the artist joke i have had that one for years just never got to speak to one to tell him that joke :D
26 hours by wednesday I think you should talk to lib I think the last time he bitched he had just done a day shift then went on call whilst doing an 10 hour change after doing this kinda stuff all week and weekend the guy never stops its no wonder he aint found that special someone..
As for me i just sit there our windows boxes just work :narnar: the only think i do these days is housekeeping and telling 1st, 2nd line how to log into servers over the different firewalls we have....
As for tightness of wallet mine is the tightest of them all the last time it was opened i found what used to be an old 10 pence piece but all was left was a rust mark...
as for tightness of other bodily orifices i hope benny will bring those special gloves, you know the ones with only one finger in them :Dand i have loads of lube as i'm used to the HR dept doing me over once a month
I'll ignore Ghoule's last paragraph and just say that challenge sounds a good 'un!
64200 points and 10 days to go. That is 6,420 ppd to jus precisely reach the goal. Average is going up n down a bit, but we are roughly at 7,000 points pr. day. So far looking good, but nothing is certain... Come on guys, pitch in and make the eating contest as fun as possible :D
We did it! 209,000 points already - that means the winner of the steak eating contest will be awarded a couple of beers and some delicious syrup waffles :D
Presently 27 ppl doing research for close to 62,000 ppw - go dMf! :yahoo:
Yay us :D:dmw:
Admittedly, I thought it was the person who folded the most got bought a steak dinner, but it was still worth it :roflmao:
You can still get the beer and waffles if you can eat a big steak in no time? :flirty:
Yup, eat fast, win 2 pints and a pack of syrupwaffles.
Good job on the folding all!
Is it a speed trial or a quantity trial?
