Is this game any good? Anybody played it? Should i get this, Splinter Cell, latest Delta Force, MOHAA or bf1942?
I can only afford one of them, so dont try and be clever and say all! :D
Star Trek Elite Forces II

DOTT
i have only tryed MOHAA out of all of those and i would HIGHLY recomend it to anyone, its a brillient game
i hate MOHAA come on being punched by a guard does more damage than being shot 10 + times, you can run through the game without losing any hp becuase the bullets do no damage but it does have a good atmosphere and good missions
at the mo I'm thinkin BF1942, unles someone can persuade me otherwise?
OK I'll assume you're mainly interested in the single player game, rather than multi-player, which to be honest is an after-thought on most games.
BF1942 is not worth a light as a single player game. The graphics are so-so and the levels fairly dull and predictable. And altogether it's got nothing exceptional about it. Average and therefore dull.
Delta Force is the new game.....Task Force Dagger? It's just an expansion of the earlier DF games. Just new levels and a few new tweaks. Personally I don't like the DF style, but that's just me.
Splinter Cell looks fantastic, is well acted and has a very wide range of levels - day, night, interior, exterior, modern offices, old castles, oil rigs and embassies. It's got the lot. But it's not a shooter as such. It's much more of a tactical sneaker. Most of the people you shoot will never have any idea you were there at all. In fact you can get through th entire game without killing anyone (so they say).
MOHAA is the daddy. It's wonderfully atmospheric, looks delicious and has a wide variation of levels. Most of the best bits are scripted, but it's so immersive you're only going to notice if you re-play it a couple of three times anyway.
And then there's the Normandy beach invasion. The greatest single game level ever devised by man. It doesn't get any better. Also it's been out a while so you should be able to get it a bit cheaper. There's also an expansion "Spearhead" which is Ok but not as good as the orginal missions.
So if you want fast and furious go for MOHAA and if you want sneaky and deadly go for Splinter Cell.
i have 2 disagree with that mars, if anythink the bullits and the damage are much more realistic than anythink else i have pld, they are much more realistic than cs for eg
Ooh, I may just be tempted by Splinter Cell then! =)
Imagine Theif 2 with night vision and laser sights..... :D
Niiice, I was crap at Thief, but loved it, so looks like Splinter Cell then! Only one thing, is the Splinter Cell multiplayr any good/existant?
Non existant I'm afraid. I have just finished playing Vietcong and thought that it was awesome! Multiplayer can be a bit of a hoot too
Ive played all exept the new delta force , i dont like DF style either. Splinter Cell is top ,but no MP
MOH is nice, but if u want multiplayer more go download DoD much better ;) for WW games
BF1942 is sh*te in my opionion .Really dull like someone said.
Cheerful for a while then just plain Cheap and boring cruddy graphics i thought.
If i was to recommend one i would say ditch em and get VietCong its sweet ass , funny in places got a good multiplayer side, and the SP is quality.
But if u want one out of that selection i would recommend Spilnter Cell , just for the experience of the game as it is really good , limited guns isits only weak side unfortunetly
Well thats my very confusing advice :D

Yup Splinter Cell or Vietcong. Splinter Cell has some interesting gameplay but no MP. Vietcong is awesome (IMHO) but many have said that the mmissions can become a bit samey.
I've played Vietcong too. they do about as much as they can with the Vietnam setting. Obviously it's a bit limiting, you're either in the jungle or down a rabbit hole. However you do get to be a gunner on a helicopter, and a gunner on a patrol boat, you get to be a tunnel rat, fall into spike pits, engage in night fights and call in wicked air strikes and even fall into an underground gook latrine for your sins 8O
The enemy AI is extremely good. Charles almost never sticks his head out and has the sneaky habit of flanking you when you're hunting him. I was regularly on the receiving end of a bullet in the back of my head.
Graphics are good and the jungle looks pretty realistic. It's very questionable in it's treatment of the North Vietnamese people but who gives a crap...it's a great game.
One of the things I did like about Splinter Cell was the challenge of completing a level without firing a shot. it can be done on most levels but is damn hard sometimes. Made it quite like Thief though which is no bad thing.
