Yesterday we had a record peak of *almost* 10,000 point in one day. In 24h periods we did go as high as 10,800. So, it is only a matter of time before we manage to break the 10k ppd barrier!
April: ~ 34,000 ppw with 29 of 113 reg'd folders.
Today: ~ 54,000 ppw with 25 of 119 reg'd folders.
The 25 active are a mix of new folders and old folders firing up their processes again. So we do better, with fewer people - capacity increase for all folders I think? Or just DFor going nuts? :flirty:
Worth noting is that at the time dMf got new attention about a month ago active folders was down to 18-22/117, putting out a little less than the april ppw.
That is a 35+% increase in one month :flirty: Now... could we somehow do that next month as well? :woot2: How do we wake the disabled folding processes, harbouring in dMw systems around here? :g:

I'm still looking in the "Grey-matter"-case on the dMf-record.
For now it looks like me and Delan have to treat the winner of the steakcontest a pint (so you get 2, one from me, one from Delan).
It's a record in recent times but I've downloaded the team stats in CSV format and carried out some analysis and we have done better...
Maximum number of active folders: 41 (25th-28th Aug 2005)
Maximum number of points in 24 hours: 41074 (23rd Aug 2005)
Maximum number of points in a week: 94285 (28th Aug 2005)
These figures are scewed as there were some issues posting the previous week which caused a lot of queued units to be posted on the 23rd.
If we exclude that week then the figures are:
Maximum number of points in 24 hours: 13569 (19th Oct 2005)
Maximum number of points in a week: 68733 (9th Aug 2005)
We're heading in the right direction again, so keep folding!!

A very interesting read.

24 hours record broken yesterday, and I dare say not due to hickups (the 18k jump) - we did
16,197 ppd! :yahoo:
Some weeks ago we did more than
65,000ppw again which means the 68,733 is getting closer... :flirty:
Come one, let's break the record :woot2:
Edit: Oh, and, we are back to 28 active folders :flirty: and we did
71,789 in the last 7 days, which almost counts for a record. hope it ends up with a record week :D
Sorry but look at the stats for the week, the 16 and 18k days had very low scores either side. If you are including them, then we should also include the 41000 points on 23rd August 2005. Things are improving though, so keep those points coming.
And with 71,443 ppw for last week we have a weekly record as well :D That means we are averaging about 10k a day. We did a bit more than 50k a week in October, so we have increased quite a bit!

112,649 points in a week, so new record again! Current "last seven days" is at 113,000 so we might even advance a bit further. I want a PS3 :D
20,274 points in a day (ppd) yesterday which is a new daily record, beating the old one being 19,239.
Very good stuff :D
Once they properly release the GeForce 8 and up client I think things'll really take off. Supposed to be even faster than the PS3, even on a relatively low end GeForce 8. We just don't have many people running ATI cards to use the ATI client that's bee available so far. Got quite a few running GeForce 8s of some description though.
SMP client beat the pants off the ATI GPU client for me, on a ppd basis.
We've done 108,000 last week and last 7 days is just less than 112,000... we are therefore less than 1,000 from creating the best week ever :)

Go have a look at the daily production chart, im only running the GPU2 client on 1 comp atm, but its madness what it folds
I have just started the beta F@H client on my 9800GX2 but I am not seeing anything like those numbers. Which card are you running it on Kreg? I am seeing an est. 600 points per day (assuming I leave my PC on overnight) , but still have a WU in the queue to be returned (Stanford servers busy I guess), so maybe 900 ppd, but am not seeing anything like your 3,000 ppd.
TL.
Can you run this client in parallel with the regular one?
Don't see why not. They're running on different processors after all. It'd be like how if you've not got the SMP client you can run the single core client a number of times equal to how many cores you've got, and it'll run one process per core.
im running it on old 8800GTS 320 mb in my media center pc..
Yes you can run it together with like the SMP client, but at the GPU2 client will get a impact as the CPU still manages a bit of the stuff.. will get sorted later they promised tho

The chart tells me you got 3000 points but that was for 5 days, you didnt upload anything in the other 4 days. that gives about 600 ppd which equals what TL is seeing.

Could you possibly leave it on for, say, a week?
ye i can see if i can keep it running for a week, usually shut down my comps when i leave home for more then a day, and spending a bit of time with my new GF so it warries a lot atm :)
I think i know the reason for some people getting slower PPD now, it seems F@H team has suspended one of its WU's for the GPU2 client, the p5001 WU if i recall it correct, as the GPU client was folding it to fast and generating a huge amount of PPD and put a to high load on the comps, my media center doesnt seem to be working as hard now when i get the 5002 projects and forth.. ill investigate a bit further tonight
I am still having trouble actually sending completed WUs back to Stanford, having only had this running on the GPU since the weekend I already have 3 completed WUs in the queue unable to be sent atm due to server load or other such problems.
TL.
exactly, i guess they didnt expect this high amount of power from the start, so servers are getting hammered, but i think they are moving up their planned upgrade of the WU servers ;)
Well, as of right now I got 5 in the queue and am unable to even get a new WU downloaded to work on.
TL.
Ill give you a hand when i get home from work, and lets see if we cant solve the issue, im having no props uploading WU's last few days

I installed the updated beta yesterday night and for the first time am now getting the P5000 WUs you mentioned. They are indeed massive ppd WUs and they are being processed hugely quickly, roughly 1 min 40 secs per 1% of the WU, so I am getting a 25,000 frame WU completed roughly every 3 hours. That's around about 2,000 points per day at the current rate, so a little slower than they were (they have obviously extended the size of the workload per WU, but still AWESOME! So I can see where you got your ppd figures from Kreg as they were on the P5000 series WUs - long may I contineu getting them!

Any contribution is good James. If it's hot in my apartment I don't have it on aswell. I'd rather have my workingrig folding 24/7.
Otherwise; watercooled! But then again that's not something for my Shuttle as you can't bring fluids in an airplane...
Then drain the loop and refill it this end?

I've been thinking about that aswell but I've recently adjusted my setup and my current temperaturelevels in the Shuttle are great.

No, not unless you have both GPU and CPU folding at the same time. That is when the GPU client gets limited a bit, because CPU-folding take a bit of the CPU-time which the GPU-client needs (it does need to use the CPU a bit).

Best month ever - may 2009 - 1,534,316 points! Some interesting facts!
- Since starting years back we have now reached an accumulated score of 20,082,995 points! And interestingly, a little week or so before, we passed the 100k mark of turned in projects and are now at 100,528 WUs :yahoo:
- PCs at the start were running at between 500MHz and typically 800MHz, some rare ones at 1GHz and 2GHz.
- Oldbloke spent a week of hardcore folding getting the first 1000 points with an army of PCs. In comparison SJ would do 100 times that thanks to GPU-folding (and also and army of them :D).
- So, on average, a WU has a point value of 199,75 points. I recall the first WUs I handed in were for as little as 70 points and could take days.
- TeaLeafs summary here (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=3153&highlight=points), a month or so after starting up folding, is an interesting read.
- On a note, we have since been working our way up to about 115th and during 2006 and 2007 GPU-folding teams started throwing us back. Since then we have seen a turnaround. The last quarter especially. We have been working our way back and are now now in top 200 with 197th position - and the next three months we will take back at least 5 more places at current rate.
