Lo fellas
Anyone know a workround for this problem.
I have put my gf4 4200ti card in my sons pc so he can get a better performance on bf1942.
But now when he tries to play cs it says the Open GL mode isnt supported and will only play in software or direct 3d.
It plays other open gl games but not CS.

What driver version? Latest "official" Nvidia drivers are 44.03 available from http://www.nvidia.co.uk/content/drivers/drivers.asp (http://www.nvidia.co.uk/content/drivers/drivers.asp)

Hmmm my card is a leadtech Winfast myvivo and have their own drivers.
Latest drivers for that card were installed .......clean install on everything too.
New HD u see.
But no bugger it I downloaded them drivers and hey presto nvidia drivers work fine .
Cs runs fine now thanx

Bf1942 runs even better graphically.
But there is a major problem within Bf1942.
So here comes question No2
mobo as Onboard sound card and I also have a fortissimo 7.1 sound card
Allegedly one of the few sound cards not to have any issues within BF1942.
Now when the game starts to load music is fine but when it changes to game mode and ingame menus appear music go into slowmo and is very crackly.
The game it plays ok and is very smooth.
but the sound side of things is very bad and only seems to process some of the battle noises and according to sonny jim it would run even smoother if the sound was correct.
The problem is the same no matter which sound card we use.
Any ideas.

I would look for a patch for BF1942 and latest drivers for your soundcard. What resolution, coulour depth you running the game in? If video is cranked up too high then it could be limiting processing power for audio (i get this prob with Vietcong and have to drop back in detail to allow sound not to skip.

HTH?

Are you running XP by any chance? If so then it isn't a driver prob it's XP limiting the frame rate to a "safe" value.

Get RivaTuner or similar to allow you set the frame rates and make sure your drivers are set to let applications control the refresh rate. :-)

You get RivaTuner at:

Works for me too. And it has some other rather nice features too. Get it yourself to find out.

On the main screen go to the bottom half of the window (driver settings) and click customise, click the button for 60Hz refresh rate fix wizard (the one with 60Hz on it), click the left hand tick mark to select all display modes then click the right hand double arrows (>>) to set to max supported. Then you can individually reduce the refresh rate from max to what you want for each display mode. Then click install (it doesnt install anything it just adds some registry keys.

You do not have to fiddle with anything else at this point as you can really screw things up with this program.

Reboot and it should be fixed (nb to check max framerate in config file for CS)
