You get cheaper American stuff then... but Canadians will have a harder time selling their stuff abroad compared to ppl dealing in (or have their currency pegged to) the USD.

A strong Economy is better at the moment than just keeping in line with the falling American dollar. The GBS£ is very strong and the we can still export. Whereas the US Dollar which is weak right now means their imports cost alot of money.
If Canadas Dollar followed the US one they'd have the same problem, weakening against most other currencies.
P.S: The biggest problem I have in the UK with currency is even though a product in America can be bought for say $50 (<£25) when they sell it over here they put an RRP of around £35 to milk extra money. Those s

Canadian dolar is close now, but euro is too strong for its own good, its a pain on this end to get anything sold in states.
