Its going back to Alien basics, scary, high body count (5000ish all in if the trailers anything to go on) w/ lots of blood and gore.
Doing the franchise more justice then AvP1 :)

'Alien' basics would be
(1 x Alien) + (6 x unsuspecting crew) + (1 x android with conflicting orders/directives) on a badly lit deep space ore freighter = gritty, groundbreaking sci-fi horror film that set a mark still to be surpassed.
Then, of course, 'Aliens' took it one stage further and was probably one of, if not 'THE' best film sequels of all time.
'Alien 3' and 'Alien resurection' didn't come anywhere near them, but still held their own as continuations of the story.
'AvP' was more of a 'Predator 3' and doesn't really deserve to be classed as an 'Alien' film.
So I don't think AvP2 could compare with the 'Aliens', but the franchise has enough money in its coffers to produce a relatively good film especially if you class it as 'Predator 4'.
There's isn't too much you can do to spoil a gore fest with todays special FX. So I'll be watching it at some point, I just don't think the 'Alien/Aliens' films can be held in comparison.

Well it released on thursday, went to see it today and it was a quite decent movie. Some very good moments in there, enjoyed it.
yeah it was good, but the ending is so open as what. After the movie was done i had the feeling i only saw half of it.
We also got to see the first part of national treasure 2. Some idiot had put in the wrong film :doh:
couple people though, s..t we are in the wrong room, and a few more walked out the room to get some more food lol.
I look forward to watching AvP2. 1 was average, not as crap as I thought it would have been.
Have always hoped they would do something where Aliens landed on Earth.
