Scawen said in the happy birthday thread:
"...I didn't really work today apart from fix a bug, and don't worry the patch is coming soon!"
Though I was/am waiting patiently for the patch, enjoying this already great LFS, I got very excited by it. :woot2:
Thanks for letting us know. I didn't follow that thread.
Good news. :woot2:
I understood it's going to be upgraded AI and SO track improvements + maybe GTR interiors. The AI won't give much fun for an online racer, but maybe the better graphics give some fun.
What's bit mysterous to me is that it's supposted be uncompatible patch, so what the heck makes it uncompatible...maybe there is some physics changes then too :g:
Both track improvements and car model changes (interiors) makes it incompatible. And since incompatible patches must be kept to a minimum, I think there's a chance that we will get other changes too, maybe improvements to damage modeling, aero, or better collision detection. This is just pure guessing, but one thing is sure: we'll see.
Oh...I was thinking the updates as texture upgrades...it certainly makes sense if the meshes have changed it makes hotlaps invalid and versions incompatible.
There seems to be all kind of rumours going on. Some mentioned stalling engines (clutch) and diffs. Months ago one person mentioned rallypack to me.
Well, let's see what we get for christmas...I think that might be quite probable release time :)

"We are pleased to announce that there will be a new patch before Christmas. This patch will contain AI and physics improvements, updated Blackwood and South City tracks and... a new real car - The Formula BMW FB02!"
".... our programmer Scawen Roberts was able to get a test day driving the Formula BMW and that helped a lot with the realism of the LFS version of the car."
Watch the video, very interesting!
It's easy to get sucked into the 'new car' euphoria but it's the physics changes that could be the big news here.
Well to be honest, I am nearly not at all interested in the new car, since I don't like open wheelers.
Yeah. I'm more interested about the new physics. Never been so interested in formula cars. Too bad they didn't add a new kind of vehicle like DP1. The "BMW XYZ whatsit" feels bit like getting socks for xmas when I was a kid. :g:
I think I'll keep away from LFS forum for a couple of days. The place will be awash with urine. They'll be wetting themselves. :lmfao::lmfao:
