I've actually paid upfront for LFS S1 on the promice it would be out 'soon'. That was several weeks ago and still no sign of it. TBH I'm getting a little teed off with the game. For a start the server you can play on are rarely the friendliest places to spend your time and getting nominated to play on sensible servers, i.e. CRC, is a very hit and miss affair. But most of all the car handling/roadholding etc. are way out of whack! I play with a wheel (Logitech Wingman FF ) and can't get anywhere near some of these guys. I'm VERY prepared to blame myself but.......
Anyway the jury's out as far as I'm concerned. I'll wait and see what the final game's like.
I'd be interested in your movie though. What do I do to get it?
I will see if I have enough space for the titchy version of my movie on my webspace, but for now the others will have to be sent via IRC (#downgraded on quakenet) unless someone can host 20Mb and 80Mb file ;) )
I find theres usually enough servers out there to be able to pick and choose a good one. Every now and then you find some fool driving backwards or ramming everyone off the road, but if they do it in sight of a few people you can vote to kick/ban then from the server. I've been sent a lot of setups by random people who were topping the times but I'm still about 2 seconds shy of the really good times I see.
I'm playing with keyboard controls and I get about 1:38 (gti) and 1:31 (turbo) as my top times now (add 1-2 sec for normal times ;) ), but I see people getting 1:36 (and once a 1:35!) and 1:29 in those same cars. Typically theres a bunch of people getting similar times to me and I get a good race. If you keep your contact to a minimum you'll do okay. Try not to shunt people on purpose or too hard ;) it can be worse for you.
