Title: Movie Soundtracks
Post by: GhostMjr on December 19, 2007, 07:48:35 PM
I love watching movies but sometimes scenes are made alot better and more atmospheric with the right music. Music changes the mood and i think its a topic we can all relate to. I enjoyed Michael Bay's The Island and liked the soundtrack a few years back but i found the soundtrack on amazon and thought i'd post it here. Anyway i suggest it as a possible stocking filler. Its in a specific african style with drums but its very good. I also liked the Gladiator soundtrack but my question to our community is whether there any soundtracks you specifically like too? Anyway enough of my ramblings here's the link:

Back to the Future and Pirates of the Caribbean are the two soundtracks I currently have on my mp3 list. I also like Lord of the Rings when i'm in the right mood, and love the Macross Plus soundtrack but don't have it at the mo as I always just used to stream it from my housemate's PC and then we moved into separate houses :(

The Halo (only good thing about that game IMO), Deus Ex 1, C&C and UT/UT2003 soundtracks ain't bad either, if we're including games.

Most of Sadako's list

and dont laugh but the one on that film about a guy who gets a random call on his cellphone :g: what was it called again?

I know the theme was a remix of Nina Simone's Sinnerman (as its in the Thomas Crown Affair and on Nina's greatest hits and the reno clio advert)

its a great 10 min song that is worth sound level 35 with the bass just cutting in

With Doc on Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack. First that comes to mind.

The catchy theme from Once Upon a Time in the West always sucks me in.

Lost in Translation soundtrack. Soft and perfect for the film. Brilliant in the film in fact. A wee bit dull without the film. Did I mention I like the film? :D

Neil Young's awesome guitar in Jim Jarmusch's Dead Man (from which I got my avatar :))

Full Metal Jacket, Kubrick's first film w/o classical music - works brilliantly!

I've always thought this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egd0WSnRalA

was the best F1 theme, personally :D. I was trying to find the video for it where they gradually build up an F1 car from wireframe model parts, then skin it etc, but I couldn't find it :crying:
