We're off tomorrow in search of some winter sun and back around New Years Eve.

Seemed strange spending Christmas on the beach - but less bizarre than the conversation to the kids explaining why the sand was black....:blink:

And, Nef, on the off chance you're not just being totally facetous....The black sand (In Tenerife) is due to the volcano material that the islands are made from. Most of the island is covered with small black volcanic rocks / stones / shingle and sand.
