Stinky Bay.  Crikey, that brings back memories.  Rapier missile operators on their first visit to the ranges at Benbecula were required to hurl themselves (in full kit) off the end of the jetty there and swim back to shore.

It really does stink there...

Can be seen from the main road...but was found by a dog. Quality BBC account there. They left out the section where it says how the dog was specially trained in sniffing out washed up items clearly visable from a distance, and how his master thought it was simply a large pebble but the dogs barking caused him to investigate further.

so THAT'S where i left it!! god, i've been looking for it for ages!
oh, and it was a dog walker, not a dog that found it. lol. but surely someone would have noticed it before.. even if it was out at sea
