Title: key bind problem
Post by: Dr Sadako on January 06, 2008, 04:55:32 PM
I can't bind "crouch" to "left shift" for some strange reason. It says there is a duplicate bind in helicopter. Looking in helicopter (or any other tab) left shift is not bound. I even asked my wife to look at the tabs so it wasn't just me.

Is there some way to go around this and go into some "config file" and enter it via notepad or similar?

I had the same problems, but in the end i just used another key or re-binded all the other keys to ensure i wasn't going mad

BF2 is notorious for having "protected" keys that you just cannot allocate the way you want.

I got that problem too.

I have crouch bound to left ctrl and, for the life of me, can't unbind it. Even if I leave it blacked out in commands or change it to anything else it remains at left ctrl :ranting2:

C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\<###?>\

Controls.con

Search for "IDKey_LeftShift" to see what you have it bound to.

I've been using a z-board since early BF2 (seems like years) and I've had no problems at all with key binding (apart from alt/tab problems that disappeared with a BF2 update)

I use it for all FPS except Stalker(which was a PoP IMHO) and I'm extremely enamoured by it(I always used arrows like Oldie before then). If it went TU tomorrow, I would consider getting a CLAW and a normal KB, but would get another ZB at the drop of a hat.
