As you might have noticed yesterday we tried out a beta version of de_supply. (http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/43247) The author have asked for feedback on FPSBanana and I have made a comment about the map. However, I think it could be good if we write down constructive feedback here as well. So what are your thoughts about the map? Gameplay? Bugs?
The map is an awesome visual feast which automatically means those with older rigs will struggle FPS wise (I know Declan was getting about 25 FPS which is borderline useable).
You mentioned the roof bug - I would like to see the roof useable so raising the map "ceiling" and applying textures to roof surfaces would be a preferable fix to blocking off the roof (IMHO)
A few of the Ts were complaining that it wasn't possible to get to A before the CTs. I don't know if this is true or not as I haven't timed it but I don't see it as a problem; it just means that Ts have to adapt their tactics to overcome this - as the night wore on Ts started winning more on the map so I would say it played reasonably balanced despite the CTs ability to "own" the two bombsites.
hope this helps?
The maps we put on Meathook have to allow the CT's to get to both bomb sites before the T's (or at least at the same time). If it didn't then it wouldn't make for good TCS, it's one of the things we have in our selection criteria. If the T's are able to get to the bomb site first and plant the bomb it wouldn't make for a very tactical game with rounds lasting less than a minute.
Back on topic....
I really like this map but have only played it as CT so far. The graphics and the mood of the map are excellent with a good mix of dark areas inside and then outside to daylight. I feel the CT's have good enough defense ability without them having access to the roof area and would rather see it blocked off as it could give the CT's too much of an advantage. It's also great to see a map where things like the elevator and doors work properly. Some of the ambient sound affects could maybe be toned down a bit though but that's being picky. It would be good to get some feedback from people on what their frame rate is like on the map.
I was getting betwen 50 and 100 FPS.
Visually very good, thought it was a huge map, only really usable with a full house I would imagine, mind you saying that the bomb sites wasn't too far apart, only played as CT too.
Unfortunately I had too leave as it was too demanding on my machine, 20fps, and lost all sound :( which is a shame, :crying:

Well, I was getting FPS of around 25-27, which, as BB said, was only just playable..Love the map tho and have just loaded a new config file which should give me a better framerate...I don't think the problem is my graphics card , which is Radeon X1550 (PCI Express)..although I'd prefer to have AGP, just dont have a slot. ...on most other maps I have a FPS of 50-70, which is within the monitor capability, and I find this ok...
Must confess my PC seemed to struggle a bit on this map but apart from the Tk on Blunt, I enjoyed the game play on it.
In all fairness this could have been rolled out earlier in the week rather than on our busiest night as i wanted to play not download a map. I think we need to stop changing maps and settle down on a map cycle. I don't mind learning new maps but not on a Friday.
my 2 pence.

Lol GM you dl map in 10 sec...:flirty:
Hi guys, I saw Dr Sadako's post on FPSB so I registrated to know your opinion so I can improve the map for the final release.
Bugs noticed and corrected for next version:
-Some ct spawns need buyzone (FIXED)
-Windows in the warehouse need a clip (FIXED)
-Dynamic color correction isn't working fine so I am adding static one (FIXED)
-Activating the eastern egg multiple times creates to much props. (FIXED)
About the map:
This map was first meant to be played in 5on5 matches but yesterday I've played a pcw with some friends in it and noticed it was working better for public servers than pcws, unfortunatly detail is probably too high if there is many people in the server.
So now I though about releasing a version with less details (+fps) and some blocked spots (middle gate and the window up blue ramp) and some tweaks (T's will take longer to reach A, timing was fine but can be hard to counter a rush) to make it easier and maybe without HDR which will make the filesize smaller.
Also I though about releasing the current version with bugs fixed so the people who can play with good framerate can enjoy visuals and keep all routes open.
Any comment will be welcome & thnx fror feedback ^_-

The map was found yesterday by me. I hadn't seen it before and I suggested to Whitey that we should take a look at it. So we did on Baltar (our test server). We immediately agreed that this map was really good and we directly started thinking of boundaries and sorted that. We then copied the map to Meathook and I started the generation of the nav file needed. I had already sorted the fast download so that was in place. Whitey linked map up on the forums. At that time there was 18 people on Boomer playing a game.
In matter of 10 minutes Meathook had 18-20 players and we played the map after a quick walkthrough. No one complained when they joined the server. However, I had quite a few comments on how quick the map was downloaded!
If you have an issue with how things are run GhostMjr, then I suggest you use the proper channels i.e. send a PM to Whitey or any of the CS admins. Do NOT hijack a thread not related to this.
I really dislike you whining about "that you want to play and not downloading a map" when there was people on BOTH Meathook and Boomer. There were between 8-13 people on Boomer in paralell to the game going on MH. Why didn't you join Boomer? You didn't have to download any map to get a game there. There were only 2 non regulars on Boomer as well and at least 2 admins on so there aren't any excuses.
Also, we do not play CSS on MeatHook so that only your needs are accomondated. There are more people in this community than you and both me and Whitey haven't heard any negative comments regarding new
maps added or tested for the mapcycle. We have had lots of comments that it is appreciated and that we have found good variation of maps. Whitey and me try to find maps that evolve TCS but also that all aren't "dust2".
Hi and welcome. We are happy to help out with any testing if you need it. Just give us a shout and we will stick it on our server(s). :D

Thank you for taking the time to register and post here. This is a great map and it would be good to get the fixed version of the map so that we can do some more testing, could you let us know when you have it available for download? :D
All i have suggested is feedback about the map as asked through the start of the topic. Custom maps i like releasing them on a peak night isn't a good idea in my book as thats when server is at full load. I didn't say i disliked the map just the way it was distributed which is still relevant to the topic's title. The map was of a large size (17mb) and just took ages to download even if fast download was enabled. This topic was created yesterday and if you don't want my feedback maybe i will step back from suggesting ideas on the forum and from now on be a participant and play on boomer seeing as i am just whining! :boxing:

You were asked for feedback on the map, this is feedback on the way it was installed and not on the map itself.
Welcome Deh0lise:)
Awesome map, really enjoyed it last night as CT, I'll play as T next time.
As Blueball said, if the roofs were accessible it would open up a whole new aspect to the map.
I can't see anything posted so far that I disagree with.
Fps was good at 60-80ish on 2x7800 GT's but I know a couple struggled with theirs(cheapskates):D
Looking forward to playing as T:thumbsupsmileyanim:
I don't think having the roofs in bounds would cause a problem, if anything it would offer up some nice targets skylined against a bright background
Looks like I missed the fun
Can't wait to try it out
Good work Deh0lise :thumbsup2:
PEN
Me too Pen, had a housewarming / new years party to attend :flirty:
Anyhow, the screens look nice, and i cant wait to try it. Allthough i might need to ask someone for a tour first.

You also can join server alone and take the tour...:narnar:
The map is running on cs.deadmen.co.uk:27018, 24/7 at the moment. Same password as Meathook.
Some feedback from me too.
The map looks awesome! Even tho there is alot of detail I did not experience any of the issues with low FPS that others have mentioned. The system I am playing on atm isnt very HighSpec. and the GFX card is only a FX5200. still I hit 30FPS and more (especially indoors). it did drop below 25 on a few occasions (lots of players around and nades going off) but I still found it playable. Maybe I'm just used to playing with low FPS.
anyway, I fairly enjoyed playing the map, and look forward to playing it again.
just my 5 cents
is that the map with the elevator?
Quote from: Free;218839is that the map with the elevator?
Indeed it was
well, i think its a good map. nice graphics and such... but one think... you go down a sewer, come up and you're in a room... you can't get out of the room. only back in the sewers... you do see a gate, but you can not go through it... is that supposed to be?
grtz.

you can open it from the other side, if I think your on about the one I think your on about! Should throw an interesting little tactic into the mix.
This is a great map. I haven't actually played on it but when I read this thread I downloaded it and ran around it for a good 15 minutes. I like big maps, and this one has got some of the best textures and attention to detail I think I have ever seen in a cs map. My favourite texture is the transparent corrugated walling, it looks fab, great job . And I also like the way you can see a busy road in the distance, with cars whizzing by. And the lighting is very nice too.
If I had one crit then it would be that in some areas the echo is so loud that it made me think there was someone else running around. Only a small crit but hey. Also I think this map needs some roof access, just my two pence worth.
Night goggles could be useful too on this map!
Anyway I hope this is going in the MH rotation for friday!
