Is there anything I can do other than buy a new one?

Make sure your disk is not scratched or has any dust/dirt on it. If it does then wipe it from the centre outwards not rouns and round.

Turn of any unneeded processes in case one of them is causing a clash (anti-virus being a favourite)

The important part of the game that you buy is the Key for playing online, so beg, borrow, download an iso and run with a no-cd key. Once you've installed it you just enter your login details as normal to play online.

Tried all that ISO stuff - Punkbuster does a sweep for changes to the exe and then dumps you out of the game

Blue gave me alot of help but I couldnt get it working :(

So I am £13 out of pocket but I guess i'll have  a key for sale ^^

There shouldn't be any changes to the exe if you use the daemon manager. I wonder if you have a corrupted install or have not patched to 1.41?

Try this:

Unmount the mini image in Daemon Tools <- important!
reapply the 1.41 patch
remount the mini image (do not replace the exe with a noCD file, just use the image)
try connecting again.

Anti-virus is listed in the manual as a no-no.
