Good job today guys. HKM down on the first real attempt non-ninja pull and had gruul down to the mid-20's% at 12 growths.

Forgot to mention, i got D/c'd and forgot to record one or two of the gruul attempts. But this should be a good indicator of how everyones doing anyway.

Was a good run for all especially downing HKM first time and getting Gruul to 23% was great for 2nd run on HKM and 1st on Gruul - Hopefully we'll have same luck next week get HKM + Gruul down
nice work folks :D
and big grats :yahoo:
At first I was a bit worried when I picked up Maulgar at 80%ish and saw only about 7 or 8 more people standing. Good thing noone chickened ran out :lmfao: .
His fear and stuns are a bit annoying (seeing him run off and gank people while not being able to do anything about it is pretty frustrating), but basically he hits like a big wuss. It may be a good idea to have a second tank on him as soon as one comes available next time; so at least we have a backup on him when stuff goes sideways again. This time we were a bit lucky to have the right composition of people still standing after he decimated more the half the raid.
I also have some comments about the Gruul fight. The first two tries we had 2 tanks on him; if one dies one of the other Druids (in DPS gear) goes bear and tries to climb the aggro list. But before that happens most melee DPSers will have been one shotted by his hurtfulls (which happened the first try); which is the same fate the new tank will await since he doesn't have his proper gear set on. So my advice you be to have 3 tanks on him at all times. If one goes down unexpectedly at least we'll have one backup ready.
Also healing on me was a little slow. A few times I eat two hurtfulls before getting healing. Maybe it would be a good idea to have two healers whos main priority is to keep the OT topped off.
I don't know if you changed anything after I had to go. But these were my observations. Hope it helps.

Good Ol' PvP trinket for the fears :taz:

Don't forget to post details of the kill and the picture to Bosskillers.com as a guild kill
Then update Realmhistory.net
Then post the kill to the unofficial realm forums in this thread (http://aszune.xsa.ch/forum_posts.asp?TID=6963&PN=1&TPN=1) to get SOG onto the 'Raid Progress' thread which will really help any recruitment needs!
Great work folks!

That sounds like a good idea, but in practice a third tank is difficult to justify because in in tanking gear he will not generate sufficient rage to generate any aggro. Remember that after the first 10 seconds the rest of the raid is going balls out 100% dps so a third tank would be kind of wasted. In practice the only way to get a third tank up in the aggro list is to have multiple MDs to him, all rogues vanish and hope that the third tnak is then the next highest in the aggro list to pick up the hateful strikes. It is sometimes simpler to just go full DPS and keep your main 2 tanks up and have anyone else do DPS.
With Gruul @ 22% though it sounds like you're just about to get another kill! Not sure if people were potted/flasked, but the cheap flasks for BEM zone only) are worth using on that fight to help with mana regen, extra AP or spell power etc.

Thanks for the info TL. It kind of sounds like we're screwed if one of us dies  . Either way we'll lose some melee DPSers.
And I've already put about 15 stacks of Gruul flasks in the guild bank a while ago, so that should be enough for a few runs (only of the melee DPS/tank and ranged DPS type; the vendor for the others wants up when I was there). I think Sheep was handing some out at the start.
Not necessarily screwed, but basically a Gruul kill is clean when both MTs stay alive. A third MT is not hit often enough to generate the rage to allow threat generation against the onslaught of DPS hurled at Gruul by everyone else in the raid. You can evasion tank with rogues for a bit and do as I suggested above, but in essence the fight is about keeping 2 tanks up for the whole fight.

I can get Flasks for Caster DPS / Healers if you so wish from the crystal forges in Ogri'la got about 1k Apexi Shards i dont need
2 tanks is fine on Gruul
The point is they have to have high threat and nobody takes over this.
gruul is a DPs fight and a race to see who can kill who first, unfortunatley,Gruul won last night!
He wont win next week :P
Just wanted to say thanks for the run, had heaps of fun and stoked with the loot :-)
Sorry bout that dodgy pull at the start.... *whistles innocently*

I'm not worried about aggro generation at all. You'll have a full rage bar and I'm a Druid, so we're fine really  . I was more concerned about one of us getting our butt whooped by him.
That's what the feral druid OT is there for - to be butt-whipped by his hateful strikes! Soak it up!

Not much to soak, he doesn't hit me all that hard :narnar: .
Hurtful can maximally hit for 13650 (unmitigated) and every stack of growth adds 15% to his damage (additive). So I'll be able to hold out till 29 growths, where he still won't be able to oneshot me ((13650 * (29 * 15% + 100%)) / 72% armor) = 20.4k < 20.5k HP. But he'll be long death by then.
good job ppl,
very sorry i couldnt be there, but my mobo is bonkered atm
13650 x 1,15 =
I think he'll be hitting a lot harder at grow 29.... more like 785k (ofc armour not taken into account).
I think a kill should be around 15 grows...and earlier as we get to know the tactics better...
Just my two copper.

The debuff is additive, not multiplicative; every stack adds 15% extra, calculated from base damage. Otherwise no tank would be able to hold out beyond 12 or 13 Growths. The math's correct trust me :flirty: .
(At 29 growths he'll hit 5.35 times as hard as without debuffs; 29 * 15% + 100% = 535% * 13650 = 73027.5 / 72% armor = 20447.7).
But you're right, he should go down around 15 growths. And he will ... next time.
