Well, I think we will probably get more than one tbh. Both me and Whitey are working on maps. I know a few more that have asked me about SDK and hammer but I don't know if they are building anything.

The map I am working on is a rework of de_roadhouse (http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/32) (by fuzzylogic) that "we" used to play way back in cs 1.x. This map is still one of the most remembered PCS maps we played imo. I have used the old map as reference for scale but changed skins/models etc to better fit CSS.

Whitey is making a brand new map, but I will let him tell you about that.

You can sometime see different versions of both mine and Whiteys map on the testserver: cs.deadmen.co.uk:27018 (MH pw).

Once I have sorted some of the things on my to do list we will have a beta test run of it so all can give feedback.

I reckon a good "dMw" map would be based on our Lan venue

The Oliver Cromwell hotel

Although you'd probably always find me and lionheart camping in the bar area.

TL and Ron sitting in the restaurant camping behind the wine list

Smite and Jas dressed in rubber, tied up being camped by Benny (over and over and over !! ) in room 201.

Stryker fast asleep camping on his keyboard somewhere in the Lan room

and of couse Oldie camping the Sir Thomas

I reckon the idea could be to save the Hotel but blow up the rest of the town :D

Sounds good I have quite a few ideas although I am not sure my computer techiness would hold up to quality mapping.

If I sketched out a few ideas would anyone be interested in mapping them?

That is a brilliant idea! :woot2:

Won't take long to estimate the layout and such when we are there?

You're kidding me m8, I had something similar in mind aswell. :D:lmfao:

I'm interested in mapping aswell, have been for a while but never got any further then just making a few mapplans.
1 being a bank and another being a bunker of some sort.
I might just start with them tutorials of Sadako and co.

*Goes off to think of some more ideas...

EDIT, CT's have to prevent Sheepy's computer blowing up (Soz m8, couldn't resist).

Well, I wouldn't know as I have only attended LAN at the Old Griffin (or what it was called). However, I think Benny was thinking the same as you. I am unsure if he have started on mapping it or not.

Just watched the first 7 tutorials and I have to say I think this is gonna have me hooked I have already started sketching out my idea.

Maybe we should have a vent channel where we can chat and help eachother out?

Me and Whitey usually talk over MSN. dMw have a vent channel but it is not always free. An alternative it to use skype. I don't know how big interest there is?

Skype is free and allowes more than one to talk at once. www.skype.com (http://www.skype.com)
The quality on skype is very good as well. It looks very much the same as MSN. Anyway if you have any questions you find me on msn (not sure I can answer them though ;).

I have no idea regarding the BF2 channel.

I'd like to map something that is TCS playable, but either I can't make a good layout or I start one part then think 'Oh it would be cool if i added a corridor here...' then make that bit then do the same thing again... So I completely change the map layout. If someone had some sketches I could try make it.

Can't you make your own channels on vent?

Yes you can but I think it is easier and better to get hold of various people over MSN or ask the question in the forum so more people could share the knowledge gained. That would also mean that we would make up our own reference library within the forum, which is not bad if more people would like to try on mapping.

Just checking :)
