The CS Servers can't authenticate.  Is the problem with the server hosting the mysql database (BA2)?

Maybe time to start using the backup of the backup server, because the backup just went down? :g:

Bumping an old thread... only a bug report for information

Yesterday FXR on FE Black some weird bug happened at least twice.

Starting a race the only car visible was your own.
Restart, quali, spectate, etc. did not change anything.
CrazyR1 restarted the server and we still had the bug occur (stated by spoong).
The only way to get the other cars to appear was to diconnect individually, the cars would appear getting back on the server.

One of those things? Vobler asked me to reboot the server, which I did. That seems to have cured it.

It happened to me after the reboot, I'm afraid - but I dis- and re-connected and all was well.  Seemed to happen at race start time.  Chat messages were still displayed and race position (last :) ) was shown, but no other cars were visible and the minimap showed everyone but me sitting on the grid or in the pits.

Reconnecting cured it though.  Client is the standard 0.5Z, no beta patches have ever been applied.

I recommend whisky if Z10 doesn't work.

In an effort to sort out the lag on LFS I did the following: Stopped the nKP servers, stopped the LFS demo and sorry BB, stopped Pingplotter. LFS was the only server running on BA. Still they had discos and lag. After 15-20 minutes turned Pingplotter back on (problems BB? looks like it) but left the nKP servers off. No change. Could this be hardware, something not pressed home? I don't know.

It is network related we're sure. Servers are fine - it's the bit o' string what's playing up.

We're investigating and appreciate the frustration this is causing.

Lots of probs going through telehouse showing on the plots. However, there seem to be quite a few red bars (no response) on the brightstar router too which is disconcerting

I don't believe the brightstar routers will respond to pings anymore due to the past ddos attacks. will need to confirm though.

If it was red all the time I could understand but it responds finr for a while and every so often stops responding to the trace. have a look at pingplotter on BA4 to see what I mean.

ok, once you've got some logs with plenty of data in, just email them over to me and I'll forward them on.

Guys, the server is acting up again. I can join fine when it's empty, but whenever someone else joins they keep disconnecting and reconnecting (automatically) while getting a message "initial synchronization failed" or something along those lines. If I leave the server, they can join fine, but then when I try to join again I keep disconnecting, and so on... So basically it won't let anyone join once there's someone on.

I've had a quick look bur cannot see anything obvious, as I'm not the LFS expert I'm going to have to wait for OB/Doorman to come along.

Has the server package been updated recently?

What bit did you have to "kick"?

Quote from: BlueBall;260136What bit did you have to "kick"?

For as long as we can remember whenever there's been an update to the server files we've continued to use our existing setup.cfg file.

When I compared the new setup.cfg file with our old faithful one I noticed that the new one had an additional line for something called ndebug (network debug). I added this to our existing file and the problems went away. As the server files have not been updated for weeks I can only assume that the master server has suddenly started looking for this when a player connects to the server.

Good post on LFS forum. I think you're probably right, as there has been no trouble, up until a couple of days ago, since Z10 was installed on the 29th December!
