It'll be the same as when TBC came out. Purples will still be purple, but to level the playing field so that you don't have to have played through all the pre-WotLK raid content or whatever to be able to have a hope at levelling or raiding in WotLK the greens you'll be getting at level 72/73 will probably be equivalent to or better than Tier 4/5, and by level 75/76 you'll be looking at greens that equal the stuff available in the hardest TBC raids.
And such is the way of things now. I guess people will have to raid for the joy of raiding (as I am sure most do already) rather than the bragging rights that come from a load of sweet looking armour sets (as sadly a few still do).
As Blizzard release these expansions this will be the norm. I'm just looking to get my dwarf to a high enough level that I can raid Onyxia and MC for my Judgement Armour which IMHO is still the finest looking armour set ever released by WOW. (sigh seems I too am an epic whore :eyebrow: )
