Well folks, it's that time of year and once again the doors at chez TL are opening to offer a day full of sumptuous entertainment, pole dancers, naked waitresses serving cocktails, BBQ food and a bouncy castle to ensure decent levels of post-BBQ litigation. Ok, that was stretching it a bit, everything bar the BBQ and drink was a lie, but cut me some slack I'm getting old and incontinent.
The 3rd annual dMw BBQ will be on Saturday 12th July 2008.
So, the BBQ will be held at my home on Sat 12th July and will start at 12.00pm (noon) through to whenever we decide to stop (last time this was at about 4.00am Sunday morning I think). Partners are invited to attend too - my wife has to have someone else to chat to ok!
Food & Drink:
I'll supply the food and there will be a decent stock of drink there, but if you want to bring any food or drinks along then please do, I am sure it will be a case of the more the merrier! As usual, the infamous ice-chests will be present into which you can dump your alcoholic contributions to remain chilled for the duration! If you would like a specific food or drink available then please let me know in advance and I'll do my best to have it available. Before anyone asks, the infamous BBQ'd Banana dessert (bananas cooked in Jamaican dark rum, butter, chocolate and brown sugar) will be there in copius quantities again!
Accommodation:
Several excellent local hostelries can put you up for the night, or there is room in the garden for some tents to go up. In addition there is space on the lounge floor if needed. I'll try to post some details of local hotels/motels later today when I have their details!
Location & Travel:
Rail: Milton Keynes Central is the closest rail station.
Car: Head for Junction 14 of the M1 - I live about 3 minutes from that junction.
Bus: there is a bus station just off J14 of the M1.
If you're coming in by bus or rail and need a lift from the station then let me know in advance and we'll see what can be arranged, otherwise it's a short cab ride to my home.
If the weather is lousy then we'll see if we can get a big awning set up for the day.
If you are interested then vote in this thread so I can have an idea of numbers. Should be a totally non-gaming experience so do NOT plan to drive back the same night!
I look forward to welcoming you all again!

First!
I will indeed be gracing this event with my presence. So more confusion and inconvenience abounds as a non meat eater signs up for the BBQ :norty:
Armitage family will be up for that one
It's so damn frastrating to know so many good folks who live so far. :crying:
Have fun this year also, I'll envy from here...
I'd love to come and am trying to juggle a couple of things round to make it doable.
The wife is away that w/e so I'll try and tap up the grandparents when they're back from the States to see if they'll have them.
I'll let you know asap.
PEN

Thanks for setting up this event, I'm unsure if I'll be able to actually make it yet as July is looking to be busy for me. Nearer the time I'll have to seriously consider this.

update: I'm going to book the Holiday Inn Express which is £54.95 (hopefully less 10% as I have an IoD card).
I guess we won't be there long so if someone wants to share a twin room lemme know otherwise I'll just cuddle my teddy.

Sheepy asked for lemonade with his :roflmao:
There was one there (only one in Tesco I could find) but I have no idea what was drunk on the night, other than 'so much'.
