Two of nature’s most spectacular forces produced an incredible brew in the skies of Chile as a volcanic eruption met a lightning storm.
Tonnes of dust and ash from the eruption of the Chaitén volcano poured into the night sky just as an electric storm passed overhead.
The resulting collision created a spectacular sight as lightning flickered around the dust cloud amid the orange glow of the volcano.
Thats an awesome picture, any more?

Actualy, it more likely not a electrical storm, but the result of the friction between particles in the ash cloud building up a huge static energy charge which discharges the same way, lightning.

And shame it doesn't have a good quality wallpaper, and thanks Penfold but somehow that doesn't look any good with my monitor.
The little image shows great, and it could be the scaling.
It's too dark to make a good background IMO, it's a very nice picture, but I can't see it working as a desktop.
