well, theres been a few 'warm-ish' days so far in May which have been hitting the near 30 mark, so it was time to bring out the portable aircon unit, the unit itself is now around 3 years old, doing a fantastic job, and not missed a beat................ but it is a tad bit noisy, not something you can bedroom and sleep with it on it has to be said :sad:
(the current one: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4140100/Trail/searchtext%3EAIR+CON.htm - actually purchased in homebase)
On with the search for a new one......
So was wondering if anyone else has any recomendations?
Quick search found this;
Ebuyer Product - PLEXUS Portable Air Con (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124266#)
As far as price goes its alot cheaper than the Argos item. Also take a look at the 15 reviews all 5 stars complimenting the Air Con on efficiency, quietness, e.t.c. Although cheaper, the Argos product seems to have slightly more power the Ebuyer one would save you over 100 pounds.
Hope this helped.
I'm not sure what a BTU is but the Argos one does more per kWh, so is probably more energy efficient than the ebuyer one...but other than that I Can't find fault with it.
I'm going to have to get one of these things when I can afford to power it.
not portable, but this (http://www.desianet.it/photoblog/thumb/leftwindowthumb.jpg) is what I use.
it's been in the family for generations:)

Good find, thanks! must say that I dont really need the 12k BTU, seems a little over kill, so the quieter, the better!
