Weird, funny and interesting
ticked all the boxes for me.

why do they call it re-entry?

you exit the atmosphere, then you enter, you haven't entered before so it can't be a re-entry.

I'd love to hear more of this project however as it is fascinating:thumb:

Thats a great idea. Paper has virtually no weight to it so I would imagine it would slow fast when it hits the atmosphere, and since air resistance is proportional to speed it should only undergo a few seconds of heating, and if it survived that in the wind tunnel, which it did, it's worth a try.

All they need is a tiny transmitted to go inside it, powered by a small capacitor or something so there's no weight and they'd know if it burns up because the signal would be lost, and be able to track it by triangulating it. Problem is something detectable at any sort of range would probably be fairly heavy. I'm sure they'll think of something to do with the $300,000. Paper aeroplanes are cool, but paper spaceshuttles falling from space would be awesome.
