Those are worth more than the car :blink:

I already visual a picture in my mind where the robbers haven't stolen the car, the tyres or the car stereos, but the springs. :D

Heh, I bought the missus one once to learn to drive in, revvy 750 cc OHC motor and as light as a feather. It could out accelerate anything to 40mph, I burnt out the clutch and blew the headgasket in the six months we had it.

Why would you want gold plated springs? Gold one of the softest metals around won't help the Spring-y-ness. I'm aware that it doesn't tarnish...but I can think of many things which don't tarnish for much less...paint for instance, or galvanised/anodised metal.
You can't even see springs that much, it's not like wing mirrors or the bonnet etc.
